I have much more to give than the surface of my looks. However, I do find there must be some mutual attractiveness to contact someone for a possible connection. I have many experiences good and bad on the site and made some good friends, but still looking for the one that can curl my toes. I am very affectionate once I get to know someone that I deeply care about. I can be a bit shy at first, although I have no trouble talking and communicating on any subject.
Originally from North Carolina, my life experiences and professional success have resulted from being very independent. However, I have always wanted a special guy in my life to lean on and being in love with one another through thick and thin. I enjoy dining out, dancing, going to movies, to concerts, the symphony, the theater, the ballet, and listening to live music such as Jazz. I don't have a boat, but enjoy sailing, water skiing, and boating. I take a trip out west each winter to snow ski and then a summer diving trip to the Caribbean or Hawaii. It would be nice if you sail, ski, and dive, or are interested in learning. I skydived once (tandem) and I enjoyed it very much (and have a video). I like to dress up as well as down. I feel comfortable in just about any social situation and love conversation. I enjoy meeting new people and learning what they have to offer and teach me about life. I enjoy volunteer work with dog rescues doing transports, overnights, and fostering. Words I would use to describe myself are highly intellectual, analytical, honest, confident, outgoing, spontaneous, and witty. I am a size 4 petite, but dynamite and good things come in small packages! I don't want a long distance relationship nor a penpal. I want to meet someone that lives in the SF Bay area. just a little bit about me...I enjoy old-fashioned romance - sending flowerscards for no particular reason, just because we are thinking about each other. (I even treat myself to flowers on dollar day Fridays!) I take great pleasure in letting my partner know how much he is valued and loved. Stimulating conversation is important. We may not always agree on things, but I want to hear my partner's opinions and points of view, and share mine in return.
I have traveled extensively domestically and internationally - all for pleasure. I have visited almost every state (many of them several times) and am working on my third passport! I'm looking for someone with an adventurous spirit; a desire to explore the world and experience other cultures.
I enjoy snow skiing, but I've never been able to graduate from the bunny slopes. I don't get golf. I have a set of clubs and although I took lessons, I still managed to put a dent in the back of my driver. (How was that even possible?) I love shooting pool - from the crack of the break to the thrill of sinking the 8-ball! I enjoy strolling farmers' markets for fresh fruits and veggies - sometimes I even try to talk the vendors into giving me their throw-away produce for my 65lb tortoise and backyard chickens (BTW, I have parrots and dogs too.) Sleeping in on a cold, rainy Sunday morning, snuggling with my Sweetheart, is the best part of winter.
I love live music (primarily classic rock and current pop), theater, going to the movies and BBQing with friends. I think my 9yr old granddaughter rocks! (I have one adult son.) I take great pride in maintaining my front and back yards. I miss my motorcycle.
Just a note from experience: Like many people, I enjoy relaxing with a cocktail in the evenings, or at BBQs, etc., but if alcohol informs your decisions and drives your life, I am not the person for you.
