Date someone special from Redding, United States. Now that I have an empty nest, I'm looking for someone to help me write the next chapter of my life. Will it be an adventure, fantasy, romance or mystery novel? Some combination of all four? That is the question. Life is what we make of it, both good and bad. So here's a little about me: I'm an eternal optimist and independent, yet I believe that we should be able to rely on our partner for love, support (and I don't mean financial) and companionship. If that's old-fashioned then so be it. If we didn't need those things in our life, we wouldn't be on this site looking for that special someone, would we?
I love movies, books, and plays, and yes - tv. I'm a homebody who likes to putter around the house, but I should warn you - cooking is NOT my favorite thing. (My kids made me put that in, something about "truth in advertising". A couple of smarty pants, those two! Wonder where they get that from?) :-) So now, where was I? Oh yeah, things I like to do! Riding bikes or walking on the River Trail, cuddling on the couch watching a movie or just hanging out - it doesn't really matter when I'm with that special someone. Hiking in Lassen and kayaking on Whiskeytown is a favorite way to beat the heat! (Someday I'd actually like own my own kayak, for now I have to content myself with using the park's.) Weekend trips to the Monterey Bay is fun - I lived there for almost 11 years and know lots of fun places and some amazing restaurants to visit there. I love to travel and have lots of places I'd love to see on my "bucket list". I'm also into "girly" stuff like shopping and antiquing and I promise that I won't subject you to them unless you want me to.
II also should mention that I don't think its very fair that a lot of guys whose profiles I've seen, seem to think its okay not to include their photos! Come on fellows, what do you have to hide? After all, if you're reading this, you already know what I look like! I mean, let's be fair. A girl likes to look a fellow in the eyes when she meets him. Or reads his profile.....I think you get the idea. So make sure you've got at least one photo for me to take a peek at, or I'm not going answer you. No matter how nicely you say hello!
I'm kind of known for having a rather "goofball" sense of humor - I love a lot of the dumb comedies from the 80's like Airplane and Caddyshack (to name two examples) and newer ones as well (Anchorman is a fav) and I'm also a big fan of Monty Python. RiffTrax is fun too! I have lots of other interests - too many to name here - and I'm sure you do as well, but if I name all of them here, what would we have to talk about when we meet?
I believe that the most important thing a couple should share is their values and basic outlook towards life. Common interests and hobbies can always come later, you have to have that "spark" first!
