Date men and women from California, United States. 200 characters? What? Am I back in school again? I guess I would be described as a laid-back easy going person looking for same. I'm just beginning to realize just how short and precious life really is and that time must be maximized to get the most out of the short time we have.
OK, I realize my profile is pretty lame... this is a lot harder than I thought it would be, so this will be a work in progress (stay tuned.) I didn't know what to expect on this site and I am just floored by the beautiful women and the thoughtful comments that I am seeing in my search results... I'm not worthy... ha ha!

Being around my dogs never fails to make me laugh. They are better than any blood pressure medication. Their wagging tails never cease to make me instantly forget about the troubles of the day. They are just so happy to be alive and it reminds me that I should always feel the same.
I became a Grandfather back in February and this is an experience that I highly recommend. She was only a couple of hours old when I saw her for the first time and she was already sporting a big grin. When I saw that smile I was done. She doesn't do a whole lot of anything right now except eat, spit up, and poop but she loves to smile through it all..
My best girlfriend (friend that is a girl) tells me I need to add what I'm looking for in a woman to this profile. Well, let's see... do you have a pulse? Can you fog up a mirror? Living and breathing is a good start. You should be intelligent, thoughtful, and have a sense of humor. You should be able to laugh at this life, laugh at yourself, and laugh at me (because I do some pretty goofy things sometimes.) You should have bright eyes and a large heart.

I live for the outdoors. I try to stay fit and do some form of exercise almost every day – yoga, bicycle, run, swim, hike, canoe, cross-country ski… I can do “coat and tie” at work, but slip into “tie-dye” after work. OK, maybe sometimes I wear tie-dye at work.
People tell me that I usually have a smile on my face. I have a gentle spirit, goofy at times, contemplative at times, an irreverent sense of humor, and a college degree or two.
I love all music, from all over the world, from Bach to bluegrass. Current rave: Hawaiian. I collect music, see artists as often as possible, love going to festivals. Play a couple instruments, mostly folky stuff.
I’m an environmentalist trying to find ways of living simply and closer to the earth. I’m trying to live a life that is a balance of work and fun, idealism and pragmatism. I have serious responsibilities like a mortgage and a teenager, but think that sometimes life should not be taken too seriously! I Love Chico because I can practice that “yo-ga” between work and fun. Love riding my bike to the ice cream shop, walking downtown and seeing people that I know, buying things locally instead of the big box store.
I think that a real intimate relationship with another human being is the greatest gift we can ever have.

Meet someone special from United States. Thank you for taking time to stop by and read this. I love to do my weight training early in the morning, gets my day off to a healthy start and I don't have to wait all day to use the equipment. My best friend convenienced me one day to try cross fit, hooked there now as well. If you haven't given it a try, you should. Have been adding spin classes in on weekends as well (time and other issues allowing). Exercise for me is a way to release, build and enjoy life. Could even call it a lifestyle choice (better than other choices that could be made). Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy ice cream and frozen yogurt, occassional soda's and have a slight sweet tooth (you can get really big bags of M&M's at Costco!).
My daughter's are both grown and live out of the area and I have one granddaughter (in picture).
I work for the Department of Veteran's Affairs, Chico OPC. I enjoy my work and love serving those who have served us (didn't get to stay in myself, but that's another and apparently current on going story!). I have been working there since December 2010. Prior to that (now as work comes in) I did Real Estate Sales (seeing signs of movement now, pehaps this year it will start back).
I'm passionate about life and the future and look forward to meeting someone who see's life in a similar fashion. Someone who is active, fun and wants to be loved and give love. Like most guys, I enjoy a varity of outdoor activities and also, get a kick out of watching local High School Sports. Not tainted by outside influences like College and Pro teams seem to be. Going to dinner and a movie is always a nice thing to do as well. A walk in the park, nice bike ride, sitting by a creek, all things that relax ones mind and are nice to do together.
I am currently in the divorce process. If you have done so in California, you know what I mean by "process". No ill will or feelings on my part. I don't like bitterness or negativity, only makes you stress and is unhealthy in the end.

I spend time in the park nearly every day. I’m easy going and live a simple life – enjoying nature, music, dancing, movies, eating delicious healthy food, and exercising. I meditate and do yoga daily. You'll find me a good listener and communicator, a gentleman and respectful. I enjoy silliness and laughter as well as "real" talks about spirituality, goals, feelings and needs. I play several instruments and like to sing.
