Date someone special from Alabama, United States. I moved to Alabama 2 years ago. Since I work in a children's store, I have had no problem making women friends; but not many opportunities to meet men. I have been single for eight years and only recently began to feel that it is time to move on. I miss spending time with someone special I would like to have an honest relationship with someone who respects me as an equal.
I have two children and seven grand-children. My daughter and her three children live in Michigan and I go see them twice a year. My son lives in Alabama and has four children that he has custody of. Family is very important to me and I am very grateful to have a great relationship with mine.
I think the world is a beautiful place and I like to see as much of it as possible. I love gardens, fields and back trails through the mountains. I am happy and enjoy life. I try to see the good in everything and everyone.
I owned my own business in Michigan until the economy put an end to that. I loved it and the people I met and got to know.
I have a good sense of humor....a must to make it through life!

Meet a woman from Alabama, United States. I am a 56 year old woman with 2 grown children. They both live away. Let me correct myself. My son will be moving back only until he graduates from UA in December. At that time he will receive his commissiom into the Marine Corps then he will be gone to his duty station. My friends tell me I am best suited for a retired service person and they are probably right!My interests are diverse. I enjoys staying in and watching a good movie or cruising the neighborhood for a good garage sale! I collect antiques but I am not a horder. It has been a challenge for me to go from a 6 bedroom, 3 bath house to a 3 bedroom garden home, but, I am making progress.
I waited until I was 30 to marry because I wanted it to be for a lifetime. Well, he had other plans. After 25 years of marriage he still refused to grow up. You just cannot make someone act like a responsible adult no matter how hard you try. I have not lost my faith in mankind however. I still believe there is someone out there who appreciates a woman who is loving and romantic. I enjoy cooking at home or out sampling a variety of ethnic dishes. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Buffalo so I am pretty good at making just about any Italian dish you can imagine. I was married to a man from El Salvador so I can cook spanish dishes as well. My in-laws always laughed at my tortillas, so I challenged the to a biscuit bake off! Guess who won that challenge.
I have always been attracted to the dark mysterious type of man. I guess it is because my father was full blooded Tuscaroura and grew up on a reservation in Canada. But as long as you are a gentleman who still believes in the basic good manners, such as opening a door for a woman or pulling out the chair at a restaurant, I am looking for you.
I have a few extra pounds at the moment but I am working at it. I am not obese so fear not, just a bit of patience and no nagging please until I have reached my goal!
My only priority as far as looks are concerned is you must have dark eyes and a mysterious nature.
Just a minor update. Most of what I have written is still true. As you can see I have been here a while.I am now 60 years old and finding it even more difficult to find a man that can appreciate me
But, if you desire someone who is pretty low maintanence (sp), able to carry on a conversation of with some intelligence and does not wish to be subject to an over abundace of drama; that would be me.

As we sit and sip our wine we can hear a little jazz band playing in the background. As the time flows swiftly by we forget that the night has past us by and the sun is rising. We have spent all this time in our on world and did not even know that the night had ended and a new day has begun. With the sun as it is rising we see the stars fading as the day shines to a new beginning. The tide is rolling in and now we see that our time has ceased for the past but we are ready for the new beginning.
