HI ALL, I'm Ritzie, and I'm a little bit of THIS, and a little bit of THAT, who grew up playin' in the woods from the time I rose in the mornings 'till it was too dark to see my way BACK, in the eve's. Nowadays, I'm STRICTLY, a "STAY-AT-HOME,"/Homemaker-type woman. I am SO NOT a power woman. In fact, it is THEY who've caused belief that us domestic types don't exist. "They" can open their own doors, buy their own dinners, and while at it, send themselves flowers, lol, NOT ME. Div. 15 years, so I know better than to put myself into a relationship that yields the same mistakes.
--I chose not to date for the last 6 years; staying focused on my future (and getting through my Son's passing) so there just wasn't a place for someone during that time. (How I WISH there had been.) I was the only parent of my only child, "Johnny," and turned-out the most EXTRAORDINARY, young man this life could expect from single-momming, (FAR too much of a human being to tell you about, so I won't attempt it.) Johnny was almost 22 and a junior at Bama. During the same years, I also suffered the losses of my "Big Brother" (VERY best friend) then my Daddy's passing. They were the three, most precious "men" in my life (they were my breath.) So I took time out to simply try to "get it." Though it's been years since my son was here, it changed my life tremendously.
--Professional Writer/Journalist-Freelance, 20 years (magazines and newspapers) and made CERTAIN I could work at home, in my younger years. I grew up a LADY, but a bit of a Tomboy, too (3 older, brothers/no sisters.) Was also a Ballerina/Gymnast (received two college scholarships) though, nowadays, am definitely retired from so much physical activity and sure am feelin' the PAST in my body lately, lol.) I am a triathlete which is fun but I really enjoy doing the long distance Ironman races which is considered somewhat obsessive. However, I love to do things that are fun and make me laugh. . It’s so very difficult to be original & captivating in a couple of paragraphs! Hopefully, this will capture at least a hint of my personality and what I’m looking for without being clich?…
I would describe myself as being confident, intelligent, funny & loyal - not necessarily in that order... I am very family oriented and I do spend a lot of time hanging out with them…LOTS of fun now that they’re grown and “hanging out” usually means grilling out & drinking wine on the back porch. Jeez…I guess that I should also mention the pets. Sigh…I have somehow accumulated 2 dogs & 2 cats that have very unique personalities - all rescues. Sometimes I think that they actually rescued me! They have good manners & I DO love that the fact that they ALWAYS love me & are glad to see me.
My job basically rocks about 90% of the time – I’m in software and am usually either traveling or working from home. It’s a really good mix for me. Sometimes the travel gets a little old, but I’m only out for a few days at a time & it’s pretty cool meeting people and seeing parts of the country that I would not normally visit.
So far – that all just sounds SOOOOO boring! Is it just me or is it harder to meet someone when you get a little older?!! OK - I'm not into the bar scene...been there & done that. Not that I don’t mind going out for a drink or to see a good band. I just don't want my name stenciled on a bar stool somewhere. I love music – blues, old rock, some jazz & bluegrass…
