Meet someone special from Birmingham, United States. i'm an elementary school teacher who works really hard and rarely (ok, never) meets any guys, so i'm just giving this a shot. :)
i've lived in birmingham for about 10 years now: the first 4 in college and the past 6 i've been teaching in local schools. i grew up in kentucky, and still believe it's a fabulous place. most of my family (i'm a twin!) is still there and it's one of my favorite places to go visit. my mom, sister, and brother are all attorneys so don't ask me how i ended up in the classroom BUT i love teaching and working with students! right now i'm in graduate school for educational leadership and will finish in may. i always have hilarious stories to share about my kids and literally never have a boring day at work! when i'm not working, i'll do almost anything if my friends are involved; i value the relationships (near and far) in my life and definitely consider them a priority. i also take my faith seriously and try to live a life that resembles it. in general, i'm relatively nerdy (i'm not ashamed) but i love to laugh so life is pretty perfect.
i love: sitting outside at night. going out for ice cream! reading in bed. going on trips. hanging out with my dog. kentucky basketball -- i do not miss a game! spending time with friends. working hard to be better. really old quilts. making others laugh. chips and queso! watching dorky reality tv with my girlfriends. mismatched kitchen chairs. organizing and cleaning (i'm serious). playing board games. going to the movies (hint: popcorn!). really bright colors. guys that wear glasses! meaningful conversation.

I guess I'll start with me - I would consider myself a very genuine, caring person. I am honest and don't like drama. If you ask my opinion, be prepared to get the truth. My friends and family are very important to me and I will do anything in my power to make sure they are happy. I have been known to be a bit stubborn and I am independent so if you are clingy, please don't bother. I can promise you if I'm not allowed my personal space I will feel suffocated. Travel is a huge part of my life, at least I try to keep it that way as much as possible. I've started a pretty nice list of places I've seen but I still have many, many more that I've yet to get to. I also love to camp, hike, swim and just pretty much be outdoors as much as possible. Life's too short and the world's too big to spend all my time couped up inside.
I am looking for someone to share my adventures with or just lay on the couch with and enjoy some good wine and a good movie. Being a gentleman is important to me but having guts and standing up for your beliefs is also important. I'm pretty athletic and will probably challenge you to a pick-up game of basketball or a race and if I win, don't pout. There's always next time.
