Date a soulmate from California, United States. After reading many, many online profiles, they all start to sound alike. "I want to meet someone who is physically fit (tell me what that means as we reach and surpass our “golden years”), stable (that’s a good one), adventurous, funny, loves to laugh, has no baggage (OMG – at this age, really?), comfortable in her own skin, positive, happy and upbeat, independent, sensuous, doesn’t take herself too seriously, caring, blah, blah, blah."
I thought Stepford women were fictional.
About me:
I’m about as physically fit as I can be at 54 for a woman who works way too many hours seated at a desk. I just started yoga (again) – I love yoga (you don’t have to). I enjoy a good walk, but I don’t run, ski or jump out of planes. If I fall, I’ll probably break.
Oy, stable. More so than some, less than others and completely aware of my state of mind, whatever it may be at a given time. If you think women grow fangs and claws while going through menopause, then I’m not for you – not because that happens to me (I’m not there yet), but because I don’t care to be around someone with that perception about women. I have plenty of baggage and I’ve tried to learn from it rather than being bitter or hung up about it (those methods don’t do me any good).
Positive, happy, upbeat, glass half-full kind of girl. I’m not a girl anymore, although I’ve been accused of being girlie. I have a "friend" who’s great to be around when things are happy and upbeat, but, boy – if I’m down about anything, she turns off. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I am not happy, upbeat and positive all the time. I call myself cynical – some say realist – I work on being positive. Sometimes, the glass is nearly empty. It’s called life.
I’m happy in the garden. I love to garden. Ideally, I’d make a mess planting things, and you’d clean up – or – even better, we’d do it together! Then, we could sit on the patio and sip our drinks and enjoy the beauty of the day . . . and the garden. I love the ocean. It makes me feel very spiritual – it also makes me feel very human and small in comparison.
IРІР‚в„ўm a very passionate liberal. Some of my friends are liberals. I have conservative friends; we donРІР‚в„ўt talk about politics. The man IРІР‚в„ўm seeking is not politically conservative and we can talk about politics.
I like music, including rock РІР‚?n roll, some jazz and blues, folk music (Peter, Paul and Mary), and classical (especially Bach). I adore the guitar and the piano, and if you play one or both . . . ah, heaven.
If I said I have no sense of humor, IРІР‚в„ўd be lying. I donРІР‚в„ўt lie. Integrity, honesty, dependability, and responsibility are the characteristics that are of utmost importance to me - in myself and others.
I want to expand my world and meet someone with whom I can share new and favorite experiences. I enjoy being outdoors; reading; browsing shops, garage sales and antique stores; road trips; spending time with friends. A couple of my personal goals include traveling and learning to dance.
I want to meet a man for the purpose of a long, very long-term relationship. I want to fall in love and feel loved again. I can't help it - I'm a romantic.

Date a woman from California, United States. Although I will soon be 70, my family and my friends describe me as very young and "hip" which is also the way I see myself. I have a wonderful sense of humor and a giant storehouse of empathy. I'm close to my family, my children, my brothers and sisters, and my nieces and nephews and have friends who have been in my life for over 30 years. I am a passionate animal lover and currently live with two dogs and two cats. I love to swim, read (mostly mysteries), work in my garden and on my house. I also love movies, the theater, music of all types, and traveling, both in the US and out of the country. I am a big sports fan, especially football, both college and pro.
My current home is high in the hills above San Fernando Valley and I have a magnificent view. I've lived in Washington DC and Boston although I've spent most of my life in Southern California. I traveled extensively and have visited every state except for Alaska, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota. My out of country travels have taken me to Canada, Mexico, Europe, and the Caribbean, I would love to go back to Europe and also visit the states I've missed. But, I'm game for any type of traveling with the right companion.
Any man with whom I form any type of relationship must be intelligent, very flexible in his beliefs and always open to new ideas and new experiences. And, very important, he must have a great sense of humor, love and respect animals and nature.
I'm a very strong woman who has faced and overcome many adversities in my life. I've experienced both good and bad male/female relationships and I'm sure I can recognize pretty quickly which way any new relationship would go.
