Before I trick you into thinking I'm something unique or wonderful, I'd like to let you know upfront about my faults and eccentricities:
I'm incapable of being quiet. When I drive I wear my lungs out, but I can't sing. I have an opinion about everything. All my opinions are capricious. Even if I argue a mundane, idiotic point with you for several hours, there is a good chance that the next day I will have changed/forgotten the opinion and any valiant stands I made for it. I contradict myself routinely. I am never serious except when in lots of pain. I have a horrifying tendency to dump all my money on ridiculous, temporary hobbies. Solicitors/panhandlers love me; they see it in my eyes that I can't say no. I read voraciously and if you read the same book you will have to discuss it for hours (this will grate on you). I believe that everything that everybody else does is easy and that I could learn it in less than six months. I am absolutely lacking any kind of grace; my only charm comes from how little ease I have with myself. I do impressions of everybody. I am not good at impressions. I am nagged by ceaseless self doubt. I use contractions inconsistently. I am a notorious murderer of jokes. I let my jeans wear out till the belt loops start breaking, then I wear them some more. When in pain, I howl. I'm relentlessly curious about boring things. I'm relentlessly curious about everything else. Projects never get completed-they remain 75-80% done. It's hard to tell when I'm joking. I will brag continuously about my supreme eyesight, especially on long drives. If I challenge you to a footrace I will try to trip you when you pass me. I only harbor unattainable dreams.
But wait! I've got redeeming qualities: I'm an above average listener. I ask insightful questions. I am sincere and frank about my feelings. I'm fiercely loyal. I'm hungry! I don't consider anything to be more important than family (both those we create and are born into). Finally, about half the time I float around on the belief that I'm on the verge of doing stunningly brilliant things.
I'm searching for somebody that will: laugh at me without apologizing, hold outrageous and indefensible opinions about meaningless things, be confident in their own uniqueness, have no reservations about looking completely idiotic in the pursuit of fun, spend less than 5% of their time being vindictive, and if it wasn't clear from reading this, you must come equipped with a sense of humor.
