Date someone special from Oceanside, United States. I'm glad my headline didn't chase you away. My friends love to make fun of my hatred for squirrels.
In a nutshell (pun intended), I'm a botanist, so I spend most of my time outside studying the plant life around California, but I have a big love for southern California plant life. There are very few people who work in my field now so it gives me a lot pride knowing that I'm one of the few, the proud, the botanists.
Over the last 10 years I've traveled around most of California and some of Oregon and Nevada, so my career has made me have to travel a lot, but I'm tired of the single life and ready for somthing long term or permanent, but if you just want a cool, new friend who can teach you lots of interesting stuff then I'm up for that too.
I do still have to travel a lot for my work mainly to Palm Desert area, but I usually get to spend my time off at my apartment in Oceanside.
I've also voluntered as a Boy Scout leader for about 10 years now, so I've worked with kids in kind of a big brother capacity for a while. Volunteer work like that made me a much better person.
Being a scout leader provided years of endless amusement and funny stories. I'm proud to have been able to watch one kid I worked with grow-up and now he studies reptiles/amphibians at Davis. I'm always encouraging curiousity in slimy, stinky, scaly critters which revolts some of the parents, but learning begins with interest.
As anyone who knows me will say, I'm a jack-of-all-trades type and I do lots of stuff besides just running all over the place looking at flowers. I make my own distilled essential oils is just one; maybe I'll start my own business someday with that as part of it. Don't be surprised either if you seeing me breaking the toaster because there's nothing else that needs fixing, lol.
I dance about as well as a chicken on a hot stove right now and I've been hoping to meet someone I can learn with.
My type of work has lots of physical demands so I do stay in shape.
I don't have issues with X's because I don't have any. I've been staying single because of my career and having great times with all the places I've gotten to travel to and work in.
Although I feel like a dating klutz sometimes I do open doors and believe that chivalry isn't dead.
Most of all don't be shy about having a chat with me, I'm very polite and I promise it won't make you un-cool to talk to the plant nerd, lol.
The dreaded list:
* First off, guys who've contacted me I'm really flattered, but I'm just not that way :-)
* Nice ladeis who don't smoke only please.
* Please use proper spelling and grammar when contacting me.
* Being a triathlete isn't necessary, but a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise is great.
* Someone who appreciates terrible humor.
* I'd like to get this out of the way right now, please be financially independent because expecting a free dinner, tank of gas and someone to walk your dogs on the first date just doesn't fly with me. Yes, that happened.
* Certified squirrel catchers preferred (haha, I know).
* Someone who wants to share in my outdoor adventures, is happy with the simple things in life and doesn't mind me wanting to show them every amazing thing I see outside.
