Date men and women from California, United States. life is amazing...love, friends, family, work, play...all of it. how can anyone be bored and sour when every day brings a new beginning and new adventures? it amazes me when people go through the day with a bad attitude and the inability to see beauty and humor in all things...no matter what we go through. Embrace it...seize the moments and live.
Meet a woman from California, United States. Socrates once said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”
What intrigues me most about people is: what makes you different today than say a year ago. Do you know? Are you experiencing growth in your relationship with yourself and others? What are you putting your heart on and what is most important to you? My life feels full and real. I am open and paying attention (I try). Most of my friendships are long-term and stand the test of time. I am fortunate to have a very select group of people who are my friends and know most everything about me. I have close contact with my family as well. I believe our lives are about relationships. My friendships and relationships are very close and intimate. This means there is an honesty and trust present that allows us to be who we are no matter what. We work it out and our bond deepens as a result. I am seeking this kind of relationship with a lover as well. I’m not looking for perfection. I just want a relationship where someone is paying close attention and wants to learn and grow. This means sometimes we will encounter struggles and difficulties and we have awareness that the way we handled these challenges today has improved immensely from how we have handled them in the past. I have spent much time alone and have benefitted tremendously. I enjoy myself and am okay being alone, however, I have come to realize when I am happiest I am deeply involved in a relationship with a lover filled with intimacy, passion and awareness. I am studying to be a nurse. While doing so I am working with my family and with a national non-profit organization that inspires me. I grew up in a family very drawn to the arts. My dad was a television director and eventually landed in advertising representing semiconductor companies shortly after this area became “High-Tech Heaven,” and was coined the “Silicon Valley.” He retired to Spain just after my daughter was born seventeen years ago. My daughter will be a senior in high school soon and now lives with her dad. I have two brothers. My older brother was a Ranger in the U.S. Army and has a strong interest in photography, and my younger brother makes his living as an essayist, sports journalist, and documentary filmmaker. I love photography as well. I once started making a short film (I still have 48 hours of footage) but I never finished it. The subject matter is timeless so maybe I will someday. In my early twenties most of my experience with photography was in front of the camera and more recently I enjoy being behind the lens documenting life in still shots, doing collage, and making cards. It’s fun and it is a way for me to share my life with those I love. One of my friendships that I appreciate the most is a relationship through pictures. A friend from college lives in Washington and we communicate almost daily (through email/text) via images. It’s inspiring and I love the simplicity of her life. It reminds me of the Amish. I love being a mom and have a better relationship with my daughter’s father now than I did when we were together. We share 50% custody and both volunteer our time where she goes to school. He’s the La Crosse coach and I am the team parent keeping score at all the games and making baked goods as often as I can. I wish I would have had more children but time passed by so quickly and here I am. I suppose a miracle is possible but at this point it’s probably unlikely. I raised my daughter alone, since she was almost two, so I do not know what it is like to be with someone and share all the experiences that come with having a loving relationship and family. It’s one of my biggest regrets. I have always dreamed of meeting a guy who could meet me where I am at physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You know, someone who could be my equal on that television show "The Amazing Race."
All my best to you,
Lisa
Date a soulmate from California, United States. I love eye-opening and heartfelt conversations, long summer nights with friends, lovers and family; time in nature; and in all of it appreciating the mystery of life. That leads to so many adventures...or at least some sense of deeper understanding when I'm lucky!
I am passionate about meditation, yoga and related spiritual path programs, about making a difference in the world and seeking deeper meaning. I spent a time in my life on the career wheel (saving the world can be a career, right?) but came to find the obvious thing - that sharing deep fearless love and being there through it all is what matters. Deeply liberating, terrifying at times, but that open-heartedness draws me back time and again.
I find real joy skiing, snorkeling, sailing and white water rafting (the rare times I get to it), and (as you might have guessed from my tagline) pretty much anything that involves the ocean. I enjoy being healthy and fit, and have real affinity for nature—I may be a mermaid at heart, but also love the solidity and serenity of the mountains.
I enjoy the arts, especially live music, festivals and the performing arts, the sensuality of the arts, creative souls, new ways of seeing, great design, exploring new places and new cultures (travelled a decent amount as a result), people and ideas that challenge the status quo, and those cool inventions you canРІР‚в„ўt believe you didnРІР‚в„ўt think of first.
I have a good life, I tend to be optimistic and happy and always interested in life. My friends say I'm experiential, self-aware, generous and loving, and enjoy those small moments of discovery and wonder... And I also have my analytical, grounded, independent side, am intellectually curious, care about what is happening in the world and have an activist bent. Learning and growing, and my spiritual path are core for me. ...where are the role models for practical idealist mermaids these days?
I value true partnership, honest and open communication (and try to actually stay true to that :-), the process of growth in/through a relationship, passionate connection, 'having each other's back' and knowing none of us are perfect (and yet each so perfectly ourselves, lol!)
Well, that's enough about me...
I'm attracted to a man who is comfortable in his own skin; who can be goofy and laugh at me and himself, is curious, and who is happy with his life and his picture of what it can be. Someone who wants to share his life and who also has his own interests, and who enjoys being physical and physicially fit.
I can picture traveling this journey of life with a man who is grounded and charting his path, and who also has that side of being a seeker, activist, entrepreneur and/or soul-searcher ...who values growth, who has his own spiritual life and is cool with mine.
Please let me know if this might be you!

Always trying to find the right balance between my son, work, staying fit and spending time with friends and family. I'm looking for my best friend, a true partner and someone who can take life in stride.

Meet people from Menlo Park, United States. Can't seem to describe who I'm looking for in a sound bite, but here it is. A sense of humor, honesty, integrity are standard - not options. Having different backgrounds adds interest and I like the idea of not exactly being opposites but rather prefer each to be a lot of things the other isn't and yet be able to connect at many levels. Quite certain I like brainiacs and would look for a confident, sensual, passionate, intelligent, attractive, worldly, well-traveled, always on the go, co-conspirator, a sounding board and best friend. Love quick retorts, a good repartee- its a plus if you can spar with words 'n wit, have a kind disposition and a big heart. While not exactly an entrepreneur, I tend to be generally drawn to entrepreneurial types, close in age, with a strong business acumen, ties with family 'n friends, active and really driven to succeed or grounded despite any success.
Over the years I've found that I best match with someone who is professional and intelligent. Generally a minimalist--take quality over quantity. I'd like to be with someone I can be myself without the fear of being judged. Attraction and chemistry are key, but sheer kindness, thoughtfulness and brilliance get my attention and respect in a heartbeat. There's really little basis for a relationship without mutual respect wouldn't you agree?
Close friends would describe me as warm, funny, intelligent, confident, attractive, fit, committed, loyal, trustworthy, strong, and competent. I am driven, opinionated and generally know what I want. Schooled overseas; at the Univ. of MI.and work in engineering management. I have an awesome loving, progressive, educated family of brilliant professionals with kids I adore and love to spoil. Love international travel, reading, photography, movies, cooking, gardening (if I had a garden) and dining out. Enjoy a good sweaty yoga workout, running, walking or biking for those essential, feel good endorphins that help maintain sanity.
You - in short, are a man of keen intellect who knows of charming brunch n breakfast places for starters, an explorer, on the go, you value education and success as an outcome of it - are into constant learning, are a balance of brawn and brains, have a healthy lifestyle, absolutely love to travel, a pragmatist open to genuine possibilities and a long term relationship. That said, if we can have many common likes with very few uncommon dislikes between us, I'd love to hear from you and get to know more. Be happy to email a picture if needed!

Watch your thoughts, they become your words. Watch your words, they become you actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
Meet someone special from United States. Hi. I’m fun, smart, and independent with a young attitude. I'm hoping to meet a special guy who enjoys some of things I do - which includes being active hiking, biking, sailing, golf, tennis, cross-country skiing – anything outside is great. I ’m not expert at anything, but enjoy the variety. I also enjoy travelling, locally, and globally, the arts, and socializing with friends and family.
I’m attracted to men who are smart, funny, can be playful and curious about the world with opinions to share. Ideally, you’re honest, thoughtful and responsible, and you value your relationships – romantic, friends, family. You think life is better when shared. I’m leaving this a bit open, since I don’t think having a type’ works for me. I’d like to be open to possibilities, and hope to be a little surprised by what makes us connect.
I think it helps to have some basic values in common. I was born on the East Coast, grew up in the Bay area, and am still close to a large extended family now spread across the country.. I like that I'm a blend of eastern classic, and modern west, I went to Chicago for grad school and love the casual friendliness of that city and its people….it fits well with my style.
For work, I'm a marketing professional in technology. After years of school and work in San Francisco, I moved to the peninsula to be closer to the Valley for work, but find myself enjoying weekends all over the Bay Area. from Marin to Santa Cruz. For Fun, IРІР‚в„ўm quite social, enjoying camping and wine outings with friends, restaurants and the theatre, but I also love relaxing at home with someone special, sharing a leisurely breakfast and the paper.
I admit to be looking for long-term intimacy, but also looking to connect with like-minded people for friendship and adventure. If you think we might be a match, or are interested enough to find out, drop me a note and we can start with a chat.
Date men and women from Menlo Park, United States. Are you witty, charming, caring, and active with a variety of interests? I'm looking for a partner that is compassionate, adventurous, intelligent, kind, giving, social, engaged in life, still learning and growing and who makes me feel special.
I'm athletic, smart, funny and passionate -- I'm sure I'm more than that, but it's starting to sound like I'm bragging. As a bay area native, in my free time I like to kick my feet in the dirt – literally. I like to do anything outside and primarily spend my time hiking, biking (prefer mountain but have been seen on the road) and golfing (prefer to pull than ride). There isn’t an activity won’t try. After a 26 year hiatus, I recently started rowing crew again. I'm fairly social and like to host back yard BBQ's and dinner parties - I wouldn't call myself a "foodie", but I do like a simple meal shared with great friends and intelligent conversation.
I've spent a fair amount of time traveling -- both for work and pleasure. Bora Bora, Machu Picchu, Barcelona and New Zealand (the whole country) are four of my favorites so far. However I haven't yet been to Italy, Greece or Turkey. I expect those to be contenders next year.
Let meet and see if we connect!
All of the photo's were taken within the last year
Meet people from United States. Persist, smile, and never give up.
When I was growing up, I was a gymnast, and I experienced many injuries, setbacks, low points, etc. My mom was my biggest supporter when I was down. She's super positive. She' d say, "Something good will happen next - you just have to look for it." Her spirit is contagious, and she's an amazing person. For that matter, both of my parents are amazing - they are intellectual and read and discuss everything. I suppose some of that trickled down to me. I'm enthralled with the mind and intellectual curiosities. There's something about cognitive wheels turning - you know, a unique and curious thinker - someone who uses witty methods to make me laugh, who ponders various topics and subjects, and who loves to learn new things.
It happened after I went back to school, a light switch went on. All of a sudden, I wanted to learn and learn and learn. Now, I just got a job with a healthcare company. I'm so excited! My role is managing client services and working with the CEO on business projects. On the side, I also write and edit for hire, and I have clients I work with on their writing. As a writer, I have a few of my own manuscripts that will some day get out to the public - currently writing a non-fiction sports book for girls. Fairly recently, I wrote an article on a bioengineering professor at Stanford, and I co-authored a chapter in a sport psych book for Masters students. Both projects were intriguing, and I loved working on them.
My foundation for hard work and dedication came from gymnastics. I trained with a great sense of commitment - couldn't help it, my family is simply competitive so I jumped on board. I earned a scholarship to college, our team won NCAA championships, and we even met Pres. Reagan in the Oval Office - all amazing experiences. Great coaches, beer on the weekends, and yes, hard work paid off.
I want to continue to grow and learn and be my best self. It would be wonderful to meet someone who wants the same thing.
For a partner? I like having a buddy to do things with, swap massages, cook together, kiss till our lips wear out. I'm excited to find my best friend and sexy man (...did I just say that?) . I also enjoy the ocean and all of nature. They make me feel peaceful and happy. And arts and culture - I LOVE going to the city to explore museums, neighborhoods, parks, and cafes.
I'm attracted to a sporty-intellectual kind of guy - maybe you read various publications and like to discuss human and world affairs. If you are empathetic, humble, and compassionate, and patient, I love that. I also just want to feel comfortable with you. In quiet moments, I know you will listen to me and I can trust you with my personal thoughts and feelings. I can curl up in your arms, simply breathe, and be tender. .
On the flip side, there are times to be silly - like piggyback rides and water fights. Dancing in our underwear - or no underwear...!
I have a big heart and looking forward to meeting a great guy who will enhance my life. With lots of affection.
Finally, kids, I have three who visit from time to time - they smart, athletic, and fun, and they make me smile.
Note: I like to receive emails, not winks. I want to hear your 'voice' and what's on your mind.
