Meet a soulmate from California, United States. I ride bikes and horses, climb tall rock walls, and like to occasionally get in my car and see where it takes me. I love to travel, whether on a fantastic road trip or somewhere further afar, and I felt REALLY at home in Spain and Paris during a 3 week trip there last summer. I love to learn: I am smitten with my ukulele (I am gradually learning how to play things that sound like actual songs!) and am taking classes at Stanford to brush up on my French. I take a voice class that I love, not because I think I am a budding rock star, but because it scares me to death to stand in front of a room of people and sing a capella...and I think a healthy bit of fear is exhilarating. I hope you have a similar love of learning, exploration and adventure.
I love my family AND I love the bay area...which is at a bit of a conflict since my family is scattered across the U.S., with a particular concentration on the east coast (to be fair...I scattered myself all the way to California from New Jersey). Fortunately, through frequent flyer miles, emails (and in a pinch, good old-fashioned phone calls) I can still give my precious nieces and nephews tickles from their “Auntie Goober”...even if they are virtual. That said, the Bay Area is now my home. My local family consists of a pretty amazing set of friends, some of whom I’ve known since college, and the rest that I’ve been lucky enough to pick up in my 15 years living here.
I am an active girl. I don't own a TV because I don't really have time for it (although I am trying to squeeze in Downton Abbey on Netflix to see what all the hype is about. So far, I get it. It's really good). I love to cook, and am pretty good at it. For me cooking can be like a mini vacation. Whether IРІР‚в„ўm making Coq au Vin, Paella, or or something like a Moroccan spiced chicken, I love a good culinary adventure and think food can be a small insight into other cultures. My vice is ice cream, which I don't actually make (why make it when you can buy things like Ben & JerryРІР‚в„ўs Dublin Mudslide). Hopefully youРІР‚в„ўre active too. Hopefully you like sleeping in on weekends, but then spending the day outside in the sunshine and fresh air. Hopefully you like to eat, and even if you donРІР‚в„ўt cook much, you are open to giving it a whirl with me. Also, you shouldnРІР‚в„ўt be too put off that I have a tendency to eat all the yummy bits out of those aforementioned pints of Ben & Jerry's.
Giving a little of myself back to the world is also really important to me, and I volunteer twice a week at an equine therapy program that helps kids and veterans. Last year I participated in AIDS/LifeCycle, which raised money for AIDS research (although I also got to ride my bike 550 miles from SF to LA--which was pretty amazing--so it was win/win). You are compassionate and care about the world. You donРІР‚в„ўt have to express it on a bike, but it should be part of who you are.

- I love music of all kinds (one of my first concerts was LiveAid when I was in 8th grade. I still have, and wear, the t-shirt) and this year I finally got to see my first opera. WOW.
- I love dancing (full disclosure: I dance like a white girl. Oh, and sometimes I do it when I cook...or well, whenever the mood strikes). On a related note, I sing in the shower.
- I love to be outside. I love the smell of rain and of freshly cut grass, and I like getting my hands dirty.
- I love art and museums and when the weather is nice I try to carve out time to spend at my favorite sculpture garden writing, reading or drawing.
a couple notes: for what it's worth, all of my profile pictures are recent. I think the oldest one is 2 years old, the newest ones are from 2 days ago (mid-April 2012). Also if you think we have something in common, I find a message much more appealing than a "wink".

Date people from United States. I see myself in the mirror and I smile. I think the most important part of who I am is a person who is not afraid of living, leaping and making memorable moments. I am grateful for all that I have learned and the people I have met along the way. But there is something missing. The puzzle that fits the other half of me. I am selective, patient and picky. But time is passing and makes me feel there is more to come. And I am waiting.

Hello, here you have one velvet-voiced, confident, funny, intuitive, outdoor-ish girl who loves family, romance, community, good energy, friends, comedy, animals, travel, blank sheets of paper, cooking, foreign languages, piano in any style of music, flamingo guitar, and helping others kind of dame. I am searching for the right balance of what I call CCC - Character, Chemistry, and Connection. It's July7th and I just made this up so tell me what you think.
To me, what really matters is a person's character: everything else I seek generally falls in line with good character. Imagine you are driving into this beautiful, historical park with clear streams and lush greenery. Flowers beckon, birds are singing, and roses stand sealed in perfection with dew drops. Suddenly you notice the teeth claws on the road and a sign that says "if you drive in, your tires will be slashed and your car will be shredded...but isn't it pretty here?" This is the character gate check. Some people will drive on in and waste a lot of time there wondering how to get out or call AAA to get a ride then buy a new car. I prefer to back the car up and move on to a place that won't cause me ruin, stress, or drama of any kind.
Alongside character is chemistry. If there is no chemistry, there is no desire to stay in the relationship. I cannot be talked into chemistry or attraction.
Finally, there is the Connection: shared interests and shared values. Many people in California share the same outdoor interests but a few focus on specific ones, or dangerous ones, or avoidance of other ones (like the people who don't like the snow or the beach). I'm an all-around California girl who can dress up for diner and dancing, or dress down for athletics and hiking. I stay away from extreme sports and click-clack road warrior cyclists who scream "share the road!" every two minutes.

The first picture I saw of him was of a healthy looking, handsome, athletic man with a terrific smile. About the fourth picture down, here comes reality. This picture is about 10-15 years older, with a bizarre haircut, sporting unkind years of drinking damage...this puffy man is definitely not in shape like the first picture. It almost looks like father and son. So who is this guy, really? And if he didn't post the fourth shot, he definitely would have shown up much older, much more puffy, and just plain creepy since I was expecting the guy in photo number one. So here's the deal.
