I have read a few profiles, and I realize there are many kinds: short 4 sentences, a few pages worth of details, cute ones, funny ones, and some that say enough to make me read it again. In any case, I tend to look at the photos, in search for that look in the eyes that, well, makes me want to see we are interesting to each other.
I have been many things in my life, and now I am painting and writing again. I have always considered myself an artist, even when I haven't been able to make art, so I am happy to have the opportunity to be able to support my self at this juncture in my life.
I love music, it plays all the time, and I dance to it whenever the beat gets to me. Live music is so wonderful. I love the sea and the mountains, and love that my drive between them is so short in this beautiful place. Yes, I recently chose to move here, and am enamored with the area. I came to California in my 20s to pursue a career in the software industry and started out at System Development Corporation in LA and followed the industry from the IBM 360 through The Interne bust from programmer to CEO. Currently I work part-time and serve on several public and not for profit boards.
As much as I love working, I also really value my leisure time and the opportunity to travel (though I do prefer traveling with someone to traveling alone), work on my photography, attend all the Stanford Women's Basketball games, spend time with friends, see movies, read lots of books on my iPad and take courses ranging from photojournalism to the The History of Jazz. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do and I hike frequently with my dog in the beautiful open space preserves around my house; I probably wouldn't do Machu Picchu as it's a bit precipitous for me but I love hiking in Alaska, Basque Country, Africa and Marin County.
