I am good at what I do for a living, which gives me freedom and flexibility to pursue my other interests. I love music; trained as a classical pianist and still like to play, mostly when nobody is around (got to have mercy). I love the outdoors and try to get out there as often as I can: skiing, backpacking, mountaineering, or just hiking the local trails. I love learning and sharing my knowledge with others, especially kids. For the last couple of years, I have been volunteering at my daughter’s school, teaching science and gardening. I need to state for the record that I am into music.... like really into music. This is a key area of compatibility for me. Meet a woman from California, United States. I am grateful for wonderful friends in my life. I love doing almost anything outdoors. I've had a successful career in the healthcare technology field. I'm now reinventing that career, working part time and enjoying more time to do fun things, while wondering what to do when I grow up:) The accomplishments I'm most proud of are my two teenagers who are the center of my world and fortunately are really fun to be around.
I love tennis and play on several teams. I hike/walk with friends and I like golf a lot too. My bicycle and I just got reacquainted after quite a few years of it collecting cobwebs. It is very fun to be more fit now than I was 10 years ago. I swam competitively as a kid and didn't want to see a pool for many years, but now I enjoy swimming which for me is kind of a way of exercising and meditating at the same time. I stopped one dive short of getting certified to scuba dive 25 years ago, and I'm thinking about finally doing that. I enjoy movies and theater. I recently took a photography class and have lots more to learn. I love international travel and have lived in Asia for a year, and traveled in Europe as well as Australia/New Zealand a bit but not enough. Last year I decided I'd like to go somewhere new every year... Africa was first, last summer, and it was amazing. Not sure what's next - open to ideas!
I am pretty hooked on Starbucks Mochas nonfat with whipped cream - this confuses people who think nonfat should go with no whipped cream, but oh well! I also have a weakness for Reeses peanut butter cups.

Since people understandably seem to wonder what "currently separated" means, maybe a straightforward way to put it is it means emotionally single. living on my own for over a year now, and making good and civilized progress in the legal process of getting divorced. I have learned lots in the last few years, the least of which are how to competently put out the garbage/recycling, handle some IT issues at home and get the number of a handyman! Much more importantly, I've learned that I'd like to have and be a best friend, a partner, maybe a soulmate?
