This past Mother’s Day my daughter presented me with her written reflection on who I am. I was amazed by the many different facets of me that she saw – not just the lawyer and single mom who adores her children – but someone who loves bright colors, chocolate, and country music, is obsessed with super high heels, loves running on Mt. Tam (slowly!), is a great skier, and enjoys reading.
My friends would describe me as outgoing, energetic, and always on the go. I have a positive outlook and am in a good place in my life right now. I am intelligent, ambitious, and successful in my career. I am fortunate to have a job that I am good at and enjoy. But I am equally devoted to being a great mom to my two amazing daughters, and I move mountains to make sure that I am there for them. The support that I have received from family and friends in challenging times has humbled me and taught me a sense of gratitude. In turn, I am motivated to extend my hand to others, in ways large and small, when I have the opportunity.
I love spending time outdoors, especially trail running, hiking, and skiing. I recently tried paddle boarding and would love to do more of that. I also enjoy gardening, camping, reading, traveling, spending a night out in San Francisco, listening to live music, the theatre, a day trip to the wine country, cooking a great meal together, or having a picnic after a great hike on Mt. Tam.
