For starters, I have been fortunate enough to have comfortably transitioned from a 15-year marriage (my choice) with a man who is still my friend, and with whom I share mutual respect, and half-time parenting of two wonderful children. I have two kids who are a big part of my life and somehow just being around someone who understands what it's like to be a parent and can share in that experience just adds to the connection.
I am a small town girl who grew up a bit too conservative for my liking (not quite the preacher's daughter, but close).
