I spend my days convincing first graders not only that school is cool but also that learning can be fun! It's pretty easy for me because I still love learning new things myself. Recently, I started a mission to find some new hobbies. I've discovered that I enjoy weightlifting and yoga and I've even started looking into taking archery classes. So far this summer I have taken a class to learn more about teaching writing as well as teaching a week of science camp for some inner-city migrant kids.
I have an indoor cat named Lilu who spends most of her time trying to convince me to sit down and cuddle with her. She usually lucks out because when I'm at home I can be found catching up on shows with my roommates or reading a book. I'm a relaxed person and I prefer hanging out with a few friends to a large crowd in a bar or club.
Being considerate is important to me. I have lots of things going on, so I make sure to plan ahead. I work hard to follow through on my commitments. I am loyal to the people I care about and try help them in any way I can. Working with children for many years has helped me become patient, which my friends frequently comment about. Also, when someone is special to me, I feel it is just as important to show as tell.
