Date a boy from Anchorage, United States. About me hmm, well I have lived my entire life in Alaska. It probably goes without saying but I love it here. Whether I'm on the river fishing, wading through a marsh hunting duck, hiking some trail or just sitting around a campfire drinking a beer I enjoy it all. Having said that, I also enjoy the comforts of civilization, dining at a nice restaurant or hanging out at home with a good movie. I also like to cook and I like to think I'm half way decent at it. I like to go and see new places. I have seen much of Alaska but there is still much to explore here and someday I hope to make it overseas, I would love to see Europe and New Zealand. I am fairly big on family and enjoy spending time with them. Especially my nieces and nephews who happen to be some of the most wonderful kids around.
If my friends were to describe me I think they would say that I'm honest and loyal to a fault. They might say that I work hard and am driven. Some might also accuse me of being a bit sarcastic from time to time (I like to think not overly so). They may even say I can be rather generous as I am often the first to offer a hand.

I have an extended break between leaving the US Coast Guard at the end of my obligated service and starting my masters in Physics in the Fall. I was in the Coast Guard for 9 years, 4 of which were getting my bachelors at the Coast Guard Academy, then 2 years on a ship in Boston, and 3 years at an enforcement office in San Francisco. So I'm free as of one month ago and not starting school again till Aug. Not in almost a decade have I been completely untethered and it feels good.
I'm up in Anchorage because I can fly for free where the Air Force flies for the next few months and Anchorage is actually a great hub. The fact that my close cousin lives up here and lets me crash in her house was the deciding factor. So I've been doing and plan to do more trips to Hawaii, Japan, South Korea etc. I'm just being pragmatic of course since my cousin has a large house - financially I'm quite comfortable (enough said)
But besides a few days here and there I'll be around Anchorage. I've been on a few match dates before when I lived in San Francisco and found them to be alot of fun. Incidentally if sparks fly I'm flexible to pursue my degree in Alaska but the current plan is to go to the Cal Tech or MIT in August.
So thats where I am. I am always looking up the next outdoor activity, well known comedians touring or whatever I can find on trip advisor. I am a minimalist when it comes to material things but I love to go to excess on vacations and recreation. I am much more satisfied with evey dollar I've spent going diving or skiing than jeans or cars... that being said I have unstylish jeans and a dented up Mazda3 (being used by my brother in California).

Meet a guy from United States. I have lived in Alaska my whole life. I've thought about moving from time to time if for nothing else to see somewhere new. I love finding and trying new things. In the end life is far to short to do everything but that doesn't mean don't do as many new experiences as you can. Having someone who wants to be adventurous with and share new things with just makes it all the better. A partner in crime robbing life of all it's mysteries and wonders. Making them our own little secret memories never to be forgotten and known only to us.
I can be pretty geeky at times and can remember Han shot first and know the Konami code by heart. I love sci-fi stuff in general. Firefly, Eureka, Star Trek, Star Wars, the list goes on. I've wanted to do some more reading but find myself playing video games more then doing that. Besides with the 15 minute cut-scenes some games have it's almost like reading! Right?
My hobbies are pretty standard for any Alaskan. In the summer I camp, hike, fish, and start fires. In the winter I look in the mirror and wonder if I can get any whiter while counting down the days till summer is back.
I haven't exactly found the type of relationship I want yet but I remain optimistic that this could be the trick. I think the best way I have come to describe it is to think of it in chess terms. The king is the most important piece and the queen is the most powerful piece. The queen looks out for her man and together they are unstoppable. So I guess I'm looking for that other half to conquer the world with. That strong queen that doesn't take crap from anyone but still remembers the king is where it's at. Now if you just add fun happy adventures to that what could be better!
