I love to travel, something I've not been able to do until recently, and am passionate about my new career in photography. I have a very busy life although I am retired from teaching. Painting again and becoming more fluent in French are on the top of my TO DO list. Currently I am teaching photography classes and dream of taking a tour group to Paris to focus on photography. One thing that retirement has afforded me is the time to give back to my community as a volunteer. I am a museum ambassador and am thinking of entering the docent program in the fall. Being able to participate in community outreach programs here in Birmingham has also been a meaningful and rewarding experience for me. As part-time work, I help a musician friend with marketing and his website's blog. Since I grew up right here, I have a wide circle of old and new friends that I enjoy very much. My daily photo blogs have opened opportunities to seek out events and attend activities here in my hometown that I have never explored in the past. I have met so many wonderful people as a result. Oh, and did I mention the five adorable grandchildren? They keep me young and are terrific models. I sometimes wonder how on earth I ever had time to WORK!

God has been so good to me and I wake up every day thanking Him for His immeasurable goodness to me. He has blessed me with two wonderful sons who are physicians here in the city and 5 adorable grandchildren. Twin 3 years boys as well as 3 little princesses, the oldest who is only four! They are all healthy,beautiful, and the loves of my life. They make me smile just thinking about them. I love children.......anybody's children, I love pets, I love flowers, Ilove the elderly, I love church, I love family, and I really do just love life. I am most proud of the accomplishments of my sons whom I brought up as a single mom, and they both graduated with top honors from med school. I am most passionate about treating others respectfully, being fair and honest, and loving God and mankind.
