Date women from United States / Alabama / Geneva, 66 year old

Date a soulmate from Alabama, United States. lMy husband died almost 2 years ago. He was my best friend and soulmate. He was very supportive in my endeavors. At the present time, I do not want to remarry or get involved in any sort of romantic situation. I would just like to meet someone who has similar interests. Someone who likes to travel (going dutch). I have found that being a childless widow ts lonesome but also the most challenging situation I have ever been in my life. I miss sharing ideas, adventures with my husband of over 35 years. But I also know that he was so tired from struggling with congestive heart failure. I do have cats and a dog. Without them I might be talking to the walls.
I was an Air Force brat and lived all over the place. This resulted in my being a respecter of all peoples. I was raised to believe that to whom much is given, much is expected, both financially and emotionally. I graduated from a liberal arts college and planned to live in New Orleans and write the great American novel. But then life happens, I graduated from college at age 20 and just sorta fell into teaching. I met the man I was to marry there and taught 11th and 12th social sciences for 38 years. I am a political junkie and do not watch Fox news.
I was good teacher because I am a life long learner. I know that I had a positive affect on many of my students. After I retired, i knew that I did not want to flitter the rest of my life away. So after much thought and prayer, I will soon be entering a new phase. I have been a certified Methodist lay speaker for a number of years. I am now in the process of becoming what is called a lay pastor. In July, I will be assigned to a small rural Methodist church. It is a church that I have been speaking to about once a month. I am very excited about this next part of my life's journey.
I love to travel and plan on going to Venice in October. I am an avid reader and am writing a book on the Choctawhatchee river. I have had some non-fiction stuff published. I am a better than average photographer and have won some ribbons. I enjoy it, but just do not want to take any pictures of teenagers. I was yearbook sponsor for over 20 years.
Since I was rasied an only child, I am somewhat a private person and don't really care for the eating lunch with the girls.
I would like to meet someone who would like to do plays, etc. Someone who might ring up and say, "Did you see Piers Morgan last night?" Or "Hey they are running a special on Delta tickets, grab your passport and credit card and let's go to Prague."
And since SEC is a religion of sorts, Roll Tide. My husband graduate from BAMA.
