Okay, so a little bit about me (You are still here, huh? Aren’t you a glutton? *wink*) I have to say upfront, my job does take me away from home for a month at a time. Our offices are based in New Orleans and Houston, and I can end up working anywhere in the world for up to a month, and then home for a month. I retired as a medical deep sea diver about three years ago and transferred (within the company) from the diving division to the marine division, working as a ship captain on one of our research vessels. I thoroughly love my job and have always had a great love for the water ever since I could remember. It’s what I do for a living (and fun), have done for many years and probably will do for a few more years. If that presents a problem, I understand and respect your decision not to engage in a conversation or reply to an email I might have sent. It can be a difficult lifestyle for someone not used to it and it may not fit into your expectations of a friendship or potential relationship.
When I am home from work, my hobbies will vary between spending time with my family and relaxing, or traveling. Whether it's a few miles from the house or a few hundred miles, nothing beats a good Harley ride down to the Florida Keys or up along the East Coast; though taking a ride up to The Smokey Mountains runs a close second. I love the French Quarters, Garden District and French Market in New Orleans and will spend a week/weekend there every couple of months. I do enjoy a drink while on Bourbon Street with friends (who doesn't, right?), so if that bothers you or you are offended that I do , I'm probably not the man for you.
If you are just throwing your hook in the water and "trolling for a bite", it's not really necessary to wink or email me. We don't always know who will appeal to our likes and dislikes but if your criteria for a companion is ANY man with a pulse between the age of 18 to 80, of any ethnicity, of any religion, of any education level and between 3'0" to 8'11" tall who lives within 1000 miles of you, then you are all over the spectrum of the rainbow for me. I’m not going to say that you were looking just for me, but I’d like to think that you were at least looking in my general direction when you found me. *grin*
I also not interested in being with someone who smokes. I know that sounds brash and insensitive but there’s no way to really say that any differently. I enjoy the closeness, affection and intimacy of spending time with someone but that’s just something that puts me off. I’m also not interested in being with someone who is currently separated. To be kind, you need to make the decision to leave for good or go back before you come to a dating site. I don’t want to develop feelings for you only to have you go back to your husband later on, or have to look over my shoulder every time we go out together. I’m not a deeply religious man but I was raised Catholic and married is still married in my eyes.

Meet single man from United States. I've been a volunteer firefighter for about 20 years. I enjoy helping others so the fire service has been a good match for me. I'm at a point in that part of my life where training younger firefighters to stay alive is more important to me then actually being hands on at scenes, but, I'm still hands on because my experience requires it of me. My only son is a young man now and he is also a firefighter.
I own my own business (Insurance Claims) which allows me to travel throughout the southeast and I love to drive. I normally return home on the same day that I leave, but, from time to time an overnight stay is required. I usually travel alone but I would much rather have someone to enjoy the trip with me. I love the mountains, especially when the leaves are changing colors in the fall.
I enjoy making people laugh and I can find humor in most situations. I can be very serious when needed and I have no problems making decisions. I'm spontaneous and I love living life. "Things" do not mean as much to me as moments do. I measure life by memories and not by accomplishments. My friends would say that I'm smart, witty, trustworthy, hardworking, caring, loving and loyal. I do workout very regularly. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, yardwork, shopping and woodworking is a hobby of mine. I have a great group of friends and a wonderful family. I also attend church regularly and I'm active in church activities.
I enjoy a great night out but I also enjoy just snuggling on the couch and watching a good movie. A nice quiet evening at home with someone you care for deeply can be as rewarding as anything. I want that "I can't wait to see her again, sweep her off her feet and hold her as tight as I can" relationship and I want her to feel the same about me. The more I'm loved, the more I love back.
