It's the simple things that make me smile: success or accomplishment of a child, green tea & dark chocolate, going the extra mile (both on the race course and in life), Festivals--good music & food, dancing until dawn, & watching a good UFC match. If these things don't make us both smile, we will have to resort to a good massage! Lol.
I am looking for someone who shares my values & zest for life, someone who is strong in their faith & family values. I want someone I can be silly with -- laughter is the medicine--cures all. That doesn't mean I'm not a good listener & good problem-solver, it just means I prefer to overlook than to dwell & hope my partner will also.
The profile picture is from my first and only Mardis Gras ball. It was a fun experience but I'm not the party every weekend type. I'd rather spend qualiy time with my son & his friends, family, other couples--or just the two of us-- gilling out, going to the lake, hiking, running, sparring (lol) I'm tired of meeting people that don't share my interests or values so I've stopped going anywhere except to get together with close friends who have kids my son's age. We all share a karate interest, which is a huge part of my social life. Aside from martial arts demos and tournaments, I love to go hear a good band or to a festival but you won't find me in the clubs very often unless I'm dancing or doing kareoke, the latter is rare, lol.
I want to attract a man who is not my opposite but rather one who complements me (shares many interests but yet is an individual aside from "us" and lets me be also). I am a very affectionate person in a relationship & would really like to find someone who appreciates my loyalty & dedication rather than to take advantage of it. Relationships, I believe, are not 50/50 but sometimes 100/0, 70/30--when one is down, the other picks up the slack with a smile =-) Can't be lazy! Lol
In a relationship, I want a man who is honest & selfless, someone who loves to get out & socialize as much as I do but yet can enjoy hanging out at home together alone or with friends also. Though I seem to attract them, I DO NOT WANT AN INTROVERT!!! It will NOT work! Lol...I want a man who will travel & try new things with me--someone who likes to laugh & won't be so serious about life! We are here but a minute! I want something I've come close to having but not quite there: that feeling of TRUE connection--the feeling I know where I belong. I want to be SMILING, ear to ear, in a crowded room on by myself driving home & embarrassed because no one gets it but me--it's because I'm remembering... maybe a look he gave me, something he said or did, or maybe just that the smell of his cologne made such an imprint in my brain & I recall it.
PLEASE DO NOT contact me if you are not into children (my son is 11 and a big part of who I am), you drink on a daily basis or if you frequently get intoxicated--I don't have patience for addicts or alchoholics & I don't want to be your mother or your counselor, ( I love wine, dark beer, margaritas, myself ... but I believe in moderation), or if you are over 50. I am not trying to be picky, insensitive, or mean-- but I know what works and doesn't work in my life and I am not looking for someone who just wants to play games on here. I have an active life style & I need someone who can keep up.
My interests: running, travel, photography, writing, cooking, karate and other forms of martial arts, music/wine/food festivals, swimming, boating and other water sports, basketball, horseback riding, hiking and camping, white water rafting, long walks, candlelit dinners, movies, arm wrestlig (kidding-Lol)!
