I live in Mobile but I have traveled extensively for my work and sports over the years. One of my favorite places is San Diego. I love California but I will say that the Gulfcoast has the best beaches in the world. Cuba was Cool!
Sports: I played college tennis and love racing my bike. Competition is great! Lance Armstrong and the whole Peleton in Cycling broke my heart.
Business: The lumber business is great but over the last 4 years it is has been difficult with the economic times but there are sunny days ahead.
Faith: My faith is strong and the Lord has a plan. He is great!

I think the best word I could use to describe myself is "intellectual," but "introspective" probably works too. Such are college professors! I am attracted most to women who like to think about things, like I do, because it leads to relationships where we always have something to talk about. It can be difficult to meet interesting, progressive-thinking single women in Huntsville, a nice city to live in but also a very married southern city. If you are a schoolteacher, work in academia, study a social science, practice law, or are working on an advanced degree, we probably have similar lifestyles and would have a lot to talk about, although these are just examples that occurred to me. The fact is, I admire and feel an attraction to all women who have a passion for what they do and strive to be their best, whatever their field. In my own work, I like to think, analyze, ponder, question, confront problems (whether they have ready solutions or not), and talk about it over a good beverage, hot or cold.
I enjoy the intensity of my scholarly work, but I'm not looking for intensity in relationships, not the bad kind anyway. :-] I enjoy kidding with people (a sure sign that I like them) and indulging my sense of humor, dry and good-natured. In relationships I like warm feelings, good conversation, doing projects together, hand holding and affection, passionate kisses, regular laughter, fun road trips, and most of all those feelings being mutual. A bit about me: I’m an adventurer, a hard worker, a gentleman, a Father of three boys, and a Grandfather. My boys are all adults, and provide for themselves. I’m so proud of them.
My work keeps me away from home during the week, but usually only a few hours away. Weekends I can be found working around my house, boating, or spending time with family and friends. I enjoy weekend trips to the beach, or mountains, along with several State Parks that are close by. I have been known to make spur of the moment trips to places far far away. And some not so far.
I have several hobbies:
I usually have a small home project working. I have a real passion for scuba diving, just returned from the Keys in July. First trip, and it was awesome. As an experienced diver, I take at least one week a year to some exotic local to scuba dive. I have traveled to many places, and my list of future dive sites is too long to list here.
During the week I visit the gym, and enjoy buying and selling on eBay.
I have an interest in becoming a pilot this year.
While I’m very happy with my life, I do seek that special person to share life’s experiences with. To explore new places, share the places we have been, and make our own memories together.
