ESL tutoring through the library was rewarding. i got to meet people from various countries, and it felt like bringing the world to me. the students and i were able to relate, probably because of my interests in comparative religious studies and cultural anthropology. okay, maybe my humor helped a little too.
though i'm not a gourmet chef, i cook for fun and experimentation. i think it's a cool way to show that you value loved ones. unless the experiment fails -- then it ends up being a good way to torture them. everyone's still talking to me, though. so i think i'm doing alright.
ultimately, i'd like to find someone i'm attracted to who is quirky, open-minded, and patient. in the meantime, it'd be great to make new friends.
i don't need a 'cheerleader,' but i respond better to encouragement and compassion than i do to dares or games. part of my libra balancing act is being half-child and half-adult. this shows up in my humor, in my interests, and in my outlook. my artist nature regards it as a healthy thing. if you don't, we probably won't get along.
i have the 'guy gene' to watch sports, though i honestly can't remember the last game i finished watching all the way through. i get sucked into that couch vortex initially, but then realize it's just more fun to get out and do stuff.
basically, i try to stay fit so i can be active without pain. i want to be able to start up anything with a new friend/date and not pull a muscle doing it. so i'm no olympic athlete, but also not going to throw my back out by getting off the couch. i'd hope a potential partner would also be interested in taking care of herself.
