I am 5'6", 132#. I am an Animal Rights/Welfare advocate and am especially interested in eliminating homeless pet populations (the good way), farm animal welfare and banning fur farming and trade.
Friends would describe me as genuine and compassionate. Male friends might ad slightly crazy and difficult to please which I like to call quirky and strength of character/not compromising my principles. I am so honest I cannot hide what I am feeling. I am extremely loyal and hard-working. I am trusting unless given reason to not be. I am passionate and opinionated about many things, but I am open-minded and quiet (don't like loud people or noises). I would not describe myself as sunshiney or laidback, but I am kind, thoughtful and definitely like to be happy. Everyday I appreciate the awe-inspiringness and wonder of things around me but, to be honest, I probably have a tiny dark/moody side (it's really just worry about the state of the world). I know my faults (or have heard the consensus) and am always interested in working on them for myself or anyone who cares. Before I can't I would like to swim with whales, swim with a whale shark, learn to swim, dive with sharks, travel, further what little scuba and sailing instruction I have had, help to alleviate animal suffering, live near the ocean, hold a koala bear...I am more of a night owl than an early bird, but can be coerced by the right person for the right activity. I am very independent as I have lived alone from an early age, but would like to find a man with the skills to get through that to my soft side. I don't usually seek social activities because I like (am accustomed to?) the peace of doing things by myself, but I always enjoy social events when they do happen. I don't need much attention from others, but maybe I do from the one person I have decided is my favorite and would be most happy with a man who would genuinely love to be near me most of the time given the opportunity.
The man I would be most interested in getting to know would be someone I could talk to about anything peacefully, who has strength of character and integrity, is secure with himself and has a good sense of what is right/wrong/important in the world, doesn't need an explanation of how the concept of honesty would apply to each novel situation that may be encountered, is intelligent about things I am not and reasonable/has common sense. I also would like someone who is calm, but don't think I can ask for that because I am not always. Alone time is good, but I would also like a mutual interest in sharing each others' lives, interests and hobbies and exploring the world together. Making sure I know I'm your favorite thing in life would certainly get the most from me in return. I would like (only have attention for) a man who can consume alcohol if he chooses to in a responsible manner and whose only addiction is me and not drugs, alcohol or pornography (see reference to "favorite thing" above). A sense of humor would be good and would probably come in handy when you find yourself cleaning litterboxes because you like me that much. In return I offer personal responsibility and integrity, honesty, loyalty and commitment, affection, a sincere interest in your happiness if you are worthy and an open-minded and adventurous spirit.

It's hard to condense myself and what I'm looking for to a few paragraphs, since just like everyone else on here we are so much more complex than a few words, but here it goes.
I am a fun outgoing single professional and mother. I have a lot going for me and life is great. I'm self sufficient, low maintenance and baggage free. I love spending time with my family/friends and everyone seems to end up at my house...I love to cook, so I think it's the food (lol). I feel like I am in a place right now where I am ready to find someone to spend time with and see where it goes. I am looking for a friend that can evolve into that special person and am hoping to find that here.
I would like to find a quality person who really is looking for a relationship and isn't interested in playing games, or needs the ego boost of chatting with as many women as possible. Chemistry is important, but more importantly I am looking for someone who gives me that little flutter of excitement in my stomach and has a good heart.
I have no problem laughing at myself (which seems to happen often - sometimes my geek tendencies sneak out), so someone who has a personality I can laugh and enjoy life would be great. I'm a very laid back and casual person, love curling up on the couch and watching football or a movie, taking a drive to anywhere, wine tasting, having a nice dinner (whether I cook it or go out), and I'm willing to try most any new adventure at least once.

I tend to be a bit old fashioned sometimes and really enjoy spoiling those I care about.
