Date people from United States. I live in the forest where the morning sunshine back lighting the trees makes every day a vacation.
Running for Congress district 2.
I am a man looking for an intelligent woman. That way two people can have a conversation and respect each other, even if they don't see eye to eye on every issue. At our age neither marriage nor living together makes sense.
Most of the selection factors on this web site are not important to me, such as height, hair color, eye color, skin color, etc. So if you feel a connection by all means get in touch even if you don't meet what few things I have selected. This is probably because I have balanced left and right brain activity. It's a Yin yang type of thing.
"Be careful what you wish for . . . . You may get it" is concept I learned in a camera class. I really enjoyed that class because it was taught by an experienced professional photographer who included philosophy along with the photography. By the way the point of the quotation is that often people don't know what they want. Knowing what you want is the hard part. Getting the essence of it is easy.
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, ( 2011 I'm taking monogamous off the list, not because I'm not but because I've since learned that it's not an animal trait, See: Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality ) are traits that apply to me. For example, if you drop your wallet, I'll pick it up and return it to you.
I believe in Buddhist philosophy but not religion. That's to say I think Karma is really DNA. I believe the scientific method works.
Watching the wild animals also is quite relaxing. Maybe that's part of the reason that whenever I have my blood pressure checked I hear the comment "you sure have low/good pressure". May 2009 added photo of birdbath, animal water bucket and above my head you can see part of the new forest walking path in the background.
I live where there's no off the air TV, no cable TV and don't have satellite TV. The movie "Network" seems to have predicted the fate of television. Do have big screen TV set for watching movies. Jan 2010 - have added Home Theater 5.1 surround sound system. WOW! Now you experience movies instead of watching them. (PS Blu-ray and DVD look the same on HD screen).
Because of a bad back I'm not the one who's going to go for long walks or dance all night. I'm a “hands on” person. The VP at a former employer called me a “renaissance man” in a company meeting. Thinking outside the box is something that's fun and creative.
I'm financially independent and would prefer that my woman also be financially independent.
The following quote from "Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan I feel is a good definition of Spiritual:
"Spirit comes from the Latin word "to breathe." What we breathe is air, which is certainly matter, however thin. Despite usage to the contrary, there is no necessary implication in the word "spiritual" that we are talking of anything other than matter (including the matter of which the brain is made), or anything outside the realm of science. On occasion, I will fell free to use the word. Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. So are our emotions in the presence of great art or music or literature, or of acts of exemplary selfless courage such as those of Mohandas Gandhi or Martin Lughter King, Jr. The notion that science and spirituality are somehow mutually exclusive does a disservice to both."Jan 2010 - Have recovered from a tummy tuck.Currently reading Conservatives Without Conscience by John W. Dean and The Authoritarians by Bob Altemeyer.
