Date a man from California, United States. Back in 2000 I landed in the Bay Area chasing IPO dreams. 12 years, two recessions and a handful of jobs later I’m still here and San Francisco is my home.
My friends describe me as Southern gentleman who loves to cook and his boots. (Buy one pair of cowboy boots and they never let you forget it!) Unfortunately, after moves to Texas, Florida, Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina my accent has faded, but the values remain.
Just over a year ago I opened the San Francisco office for a German software company building out its US presence. It's been one of the most satisfying decisions of my career. I’m a self-proclaimed geek, which makes it a perfect fit.
I made three resolutions for 2012: More restaurants, more culture, and more time outdoors.
Restaurants: Well this one is easy. I’m looking for a fellow omnivore that like to switch plates in the middle of the meal. The more you get to try the better, right?
Culture: Concerts, lectures, stand-up and musicals. So far I am averaging a couple of events a month (in between business trips.) My tastes are too numerous to list here, and I’m always up for trying something new.
Outdoors: I’ve gone (day) hiking, sailing or camping the last 11 weeks straight. The hikes range from a quick four miles in Pacifica to eight mile hauls on Mt. Tam.
Basically I'm looking for someone to join me on my adventures, and take me on some new ones (culinary, outdoor and otherwise.)

I’ve been a bit of a wanderer to date as I've focused on my career but I think I’ve finally found a home in the Bay Area. As for me, I’m edgy and counter-culture in my own mind. But anyone who saw the blubbering shell of a man I was at the end of Finding Nemo would say otherwise (in fairness, Nemo’s dad did swim halfway around the world to find him). So, perhaps I’m somewhere in between those two extremes. I can be serious when I need to, but really don’t care for it. I tend to pick up hobbies quickly and can at least pass for competent in things ranging from curling to tango. I am a big music fan and try to make it to a couple of gigs a month. My tastes are all across the board but I'm not at all that kind of snob that only listens to bands reviewed on Pitchfork. I do like to listen to my share of obscure stuff, though. You don’t need to know the origin of my profile headline (bonus points if you do), but it’d be nice if you’d at least entertain me talking about it. On weekends I try to be outdoors as much as possible whether that’s in the sea, on a mountain, or in a cave. It’d be nice to find someone similarly inclined. One thing that never gets old for me is travel and I’m one continent short of hitting all 7. I’ve been to destinations as far-flung as the Faroe Islands and Chernobyl and, as you can tell, tend to like out of the way places. Work takes me to Europe on a regular basis as well so I’m on the road fairly often. Ideally, I’d like to find someone who's similarly interested in the rest of the world, cosmopolitan in their understanding of world events/politics, and pretty adept at blending into foreign locales.
You should also be aware that everything I know about romance I learned from Smoove B. I know you think that is impossible, girl, but I assure you that is the case. Oh, and if you don't get sarcasm or Onion references we're probably not going to work.
It is, of course, a fool's errand to lay out an explicit list of requirements for my match but, if pushed, I suppose what I’m looking for is someone with a silly sense of humor and a fabulous laugh. Someone who will at least act like they understand my referential humor. Someone who can appreciate a new museum exhibition just as much as they can appreciate Jack Black dancing on Yo Gabba Gabba. Someone who's opinionated and passionate about those opinions. Someone who thinks that foreign travel means more than a trip to an all-inclusive. Someone who looks good in a t-shirt that says 'Team Building Exercise '99". Someone who swoons to Leonard Cohen or Morrissey. It's hard to describe, really. I suppose that I really like girls who can be refined, dressy, gorgeous at times but, at the heart of it all, are really silly, authentic, and cute.

I am an easygoing and down to earth person. I recently moved here from Los Angeles where I was living for the last two years. I am originally from the east coast. My friends would tell you I am a bit shy at first but I warm up quickly. I love to find ways to make people laugh and be comfortable even in the most awkward situations. I'm fairly athletic and enjoy running in the panhandle and playing sand volleyball competitively. I spend a lot of my time with my friends and doing things like hiking and traveling though I also enjoy the simple things like catching an indie movie or hitting the town for some drinks and socializing - even during the week. I think it's important to have a good friend and family base. Moving around so much over the past few years has made that a little tough but I'm working on making getting that back to where it used to be. I am all about a work life balance and never let work take over. With that being said, I am goal oriented when it comes to work and part of that is making sure I am always in a job I love. I have braces but not the metal ones so if that is something that makes you go "eww" then I'm probably not "the one" haha. I also have a super sweet pup and she plays a role in my life as well.
I am looking for someone who enjoys doing different activities and venturing out to find new hidden spots. Someone who doesn't take life so seriously all the time and can make me laugh. Someone who is down to earth, active, and is a person who has compassion for other people.

Meet someone special from California, United States. I've made San Francisco my home for thirteen years now and every year gets better. I usually work long hours during the week but still leave time for personal life and enjoying this city. I like to go out and discover new restaurants, brunch places, wine bars and lounges but what I care most about is good conversation and company.
I am active, I enjoy almost any exercise that has a social element such as ski, tennis, martial arts and hiking.
