I've been a California boy all my life. Grew up in Monterey, escaped to Berkeley, and then found myself in the tiny big city and never left. I've spent nine years here, the last few of which in Pac Heights.
When I was 20 I inherited an extraordinary cheesecake recipe. Well. Technically, it's a cheese pie. But that's a long and academic discussion for another time.

I'm pretty shy and reserved at first, but sarcastic and goofy once I'm comfortable around people. I'll try anything once, especially stuff off the beaten path. I like exploring new restaurants and places. I rarely go to the same place twice. I've lived in the Bay Area on and off but recently moved to SF, so I still have a lot to see here. I yelp Everything. I would yelp my friends if the website let me. I love food of all sorts, but most importantly, I need dessert at least 1-2 times a day. That's what happens when your parents raise you strictly on Nutri-Grain and their idea of a junk food binge is a tall glass of Sprite. Having said that, I take pride in being healthy and moving my body is important to me - think sports, not the gym. My idea of a good time is not loud bars/clubs, but more along the lines of dinner and a movie or a laid back lounge. I don't mind a wild night once in a while, but they usually don't end well. I've done some traveling and I'd like to do more. Of course, Brazil in 2014 for the world's greatest sporting event. Spain is also on my list. I'm in the process of changing careers, so I'm in school and will be for a while.
I'm looking for someone who I can explore and relax with. Someone down to earth, open, and not afraid of sarcasm. No partiers. I figure the worst that could happen is I meet some new people and maybe come out of this experience with a couple new friends.

I was born in the UK, grew up in Dallas (and hence a Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan), middle school and high school in the North Bay, college in Arizona, then came back to Cali for 2 years then decided to go see the world so spent 3 years in the UK, 2 in New Zealand and 1 in Australia before heading to San Jose for a job and am now in the process of moving to San Francisco (after I head to London for work for 2 weeks).
I'm laid back and learnt a few years ago its not worth stressing over things you can't control (which confuses some people). After living in countries where taking vacation (from work - not necessarily going somewhere) is mandated by law I have learnt not to let work run my life. Its just there to provide a way to pay for the things we really want to do.
Ive started hiking Mission Peak in Fremont 4 or 5 times a week as it is much nicer than going to the Gym but now that I am only in San Jose 1 maybe 2 nights a week I'll have to find a new "outdoor gym."
I enjoy talking to people and I can talk to just about anyone. I probably go to the bars to often but normally its for 2 reasons -- I am to lazy to cook, and there are always random people to talk to. I know part of it comes from traveling and staying in hostels overseas as that is where you meet people to hang out with that night / the next day.
What I am looking for: There are no real rules for what I am looking for its more of what I am NOT looking for. If your so wound up that you never relax I'm not interested. If you don't like to travel - it will never work. If you go to bed at 8 pm - its not gonna work. If your overbearing and demanding -- well thats just not gonna work either..
