Date men and women from San Anselmo, United States. So as I am writing my profile here I realize that I am also starting to write the next chapter of my life. Hmmmm. What is the title of this chapter? I'm not sure where to begin.
OK, let's start with the facts. I have just retired from a very rewarding profession. The work was wonderful but I was working 40 hours a week (or more) in a large bureaucracy. About as big as you can get. My job involved a lot of commuting as well so I often stayed in the areas I was working. My career plus commute was pretty consuming.
Now I am back in Marin county full-time and have many interests so I am hiking, reading, going to movies, and making plans to work part-time locally or to get a temporary job.Will also do some volunteer work. Many of my hikes have been with some great Meetup groups. I have joined a couple of book groups and am a member of the California Film Institute and, of a course, a gym.
While there are many opportunities to meet people---and I easily meet and interact with many people---I find that I miss a steady companion. There is a lot to be said for what becomes a shared history and shared knowledge of another's inner world that grows from good communication, time and trust.
I look forward to sharing emotions, intellect, caring and general fun and enjoyment. Mutual laughter is wonderful and I would hope we both can see the humor in life---and understand each other's tender spots. Humor can sometimes touch those.
Another major ingredient in my life, and I hope yours, is the ongoing wonder of curiosity plus having the desire to remain open to change and to let in new ideas of how to be and how to interact in the world.
I love nature, human nature (and learning more about it), and having senses filled with music, art, and sometimes just the wonderful fresh air of life. Solitude and reflection in all of this can be a boon but being able to balance this by having a loving partner by my side is my current goal.
