Like so many others here on match I find it difficult to define my character and personality in such a small space. But there are a few characteristics that I know are central to my worldview. I am empathetic. I continue to be that kid that put his spare change in the collection dish for the humane society and put some of his allowance in the collection dish. I am loyal. Once, I ended a trip to Europe early to come home for a wedding. I am intellectually curious. I rarely see the world in terms of black and white rather I see lines that blur and bend. I genuinely enjoy working on the hard questions. I think of myself as having a renaissance approach to learning and am captivated by a great many things. I am steady. I am never quick to frustration and pride myself on being able to do my best work under intense pressure.
The tangible, however, is much easier to describe and a few of my favorite things include: my kindle, I am a voracious reader and recently finished the millennium series and the Dresden Files. My friends, I find that distance and time are immaterial when dealing with those closest to you. My kitchen, I enjoy cooking for my family and friends and have a general distain for microwaves. I am a huge fan of water be it swimming, scuba, canoeing, kyaking, white water rafting, or simply enjoying the view. Lastly, I could function without my passport or airplanes in general. I have set foot in something like 20 countries on 4 different continents. I literally just got back from a cruise of the western Caribbean and spent time in Belize and Mexico; Central America = check.
I value education and when to Michigan State University and majored in International Relations and earned minors in western European affairs and political economy. I earned a Master’s in Political Science and a graduate certificate in Peace and Security Studies from Wayne State University. I am currently enrolled at Claremont Graduate University working on a PhD in Political Science, world politics is kinda my thing, and an MBA in strategy and risk management.
My friends would describe me as someone that enjoys great conversations and frequently has a good story to tell. They would say I am a news junkie and would be spot on. They would also say that I am compassionate, generous, loyal and studious. They know I have aspirations and goals even if they change from time to time. They would also see me with someone that has a strong moral compass, has ambitions of their own, educated and mature.
Along the same lines I want someone that is outgoing and affectionate. I am looking for someone to share experiences with. I want to be engaged in their life and expect them to be a part of my life. I want to make plans and see the world. I want to sit on the couch under a blanket enjoying a movie, have some crazy hobbies and generally be merry and have a blast. I am also looking for someone that has a Renaissance approach to life and learning. Someone that can focus on the big picture yet admire the details of a single brush stroke. I want to be around someone that has a sense of wanderlust. I love to travel and to crisscross the globe and I am weary of always traveling alone.
In sum I want someone that has their act together and has goals, dreams and aspirations. I need someone that is honest, loyal, honorable, dedicated and knows how to work hard and when to play hard. I desperately want someone that can communicate well and carries on intellectual conversations that transcends people magazine, gq, tmz, espn or any of the like.
