So you know--I've been through a bunch of stuff in the last few years. Parents' deaths, some injuries, a marriage that I devoted myself to fully and just wasn't working (and then divorce), some major professional changes and challenges, some serious work on myself as a man and as a mate. I'm through most of the "healing" ('though that probably goes on for years in reality) and my practice and working environment are wonderful at this point. I'm not interested in or about to unload "stuff" regarding what I've been through...but instead, about how I have grown, how I have worked on myself, and how my life is getting bigger.
So far as who I am, I am about kindness and caring for others and making lives better. I love doing what I do in my profession (will tell you more about it once we connect..,.for now, I'll share that I am a health care provider), love learning new technologies and ways of connecting with people and ways to provide care more comfortably and precisely. I take good care of people in my life, and am close to my family. Seeking and developing balance--physiical, emotional, spiritual--is central to my character. In that sense, while I love kicking back and revel in watching old movies, I don't sit around watching "the game". I'm heading out on a bike ride, heading to the gym, I'm doing something. I'll be outside gardening, I'll call a buddy to offer support and to see what's going on in their life, I'll do a yoga tape, I'll read a good book, work on my old truck. I'll catch up on reading or learning about what I do professionally. I have a select group of friends (want more!) who know me well, who I care deeply about. I maintain frequent and close contact with them. I think I'm a great support to others. Count on me to be sincere, honest, and accountable. I'm also a musician--have played sax since I was 8, and still do, several times a week. I love being part of a community, especially smaller towns, and have found that the Monterey Peninsula/ Santa Cruz coast is just about the perfect spot in Heaven for me.
Something else--I feel, sometimes, a little out of place in this time. Values I live by are probably way out of date-- things like sincerity, honesty, integrity, compassion. I sometimes feel (ok, I USUALLY FEEL!) like I must have been from the WW II generation...but if there's a good side to this, it means that you can count on me to be straight with you, loyal, sincere, honest and solid.
Who I'm looking for? You are smart, physically active, feminine and you feel great being a woman. You take good care of yourself, you have great self - esteem, a sense of balance in your life, and are confident whether you are with one person or at a gathering with several people. You are independent but nurturing, real, sincere and caring. You exercise regularly, without someone making you do it..:) and (this would be my dream woman) you are curvy, strong, determined to stay as young as you can as long as you can...listening to your body and avoiding stuff that shortens your life or spoils your health. I think I'm sort of hinting at a degree of moderation here...but for the record, know that enjoying a great bottle of wine or some smooth single malt (or whatever your fancy) now and again will be something I'd like to share with you! You have good relationships with your family, you don't let things sit if they're off, and above all, you comminicate. You let others who are close to you know how you feel. You don't play games and don't hold stuff inside until you "blow". You are loving, feel sexy, feel alive. You are looking for a committed relationship but realize that some time, communication and shared experiences need to happen before stepping into marriage.
