I'm a Naval Officer and was an engineer onboard the Navy's newest ship. Life is much better when you have an everyday challenge and plenty of responsibility with opportunities to improve the lives of the people around me.
I'm a curious person. I have a wide variety of interests. I like to think I can positively impact the world as well as have a successful career. I grew up moving around the world, and still travel regularly (although less than I'd like).
I'm a big fan of nice warm, sunny days. I love doing lots of activities like surfing, playing tennis, soccer, jogging, and up for trying new things. I love to travel (doesn't everyone?) you can never run out of things to do here in central California.
I like to read and keep up on world events. For reading, it's mostly news-related including Time, WSJ, the Economist, etc. For music, I like pretty much anything (except for country).
I believe the possibilities in life are unlimited. I went to high school in Japan and have sailed around the world with the Navy. I had four unforgettable years at Boston College, but I can see there is so much more to experience and accomplish.
I love certain TV shows like Dexter, Six Feet Under, Man vs. Wild, and Arrested Development, but in general do not like to sit around and watch TV when there is so much else to do.
My perfect match is laid back, has a great sense of humor, and, of course, is attractive. Yes, that is very general/cliche. Ok, so I'm also looking for some brains and an open, active mind...as well as an interest in your surrounding environment, including locally and globally.
I was reluctant to do the match thing, but I figure even if I can't find a special someone, it could be entertaining along the way.

Meet a boy from Pacific Grove, United States. My name is Ryan. My closest friends would describe me as considerate, generous, and polite. My friends sense of humor and the SF Giants and 49ers winning championships makes me smile. Hopefully warriors and sharks will join someday. The accomplishment I am most proud of is graduating from San Jose State University in Recreation with a Bachelors Degree. I am most grateful for family and friends.
