Date someone special from Kensington, United States. Hi!
I'm an active, vivacious entrepreneur who has owned and run several small businesses. I've been a corporate wife, an artist making glass sculptures in her studio, and many things in between.
Passionate and serene; playful and empathetic; sensual and soulful, gregarious and intimate, I’m highly intelligent, wonderfully creative, with both words and visual materials, and very affectionate with a man I choose to love.I’m hoping to find a man who is a profound lover of life, of our exquisite earth, and of many adults and children in it. A man who takes joy in everyday moments, most especially those that include children or a sunset. And who loves words, as I do – in poetry, plays, movies, songs, and literature.
In 2010, I moved to the East Bay from Washington DC and Baltimore, where I was a glass sculptor and I owned a glass art gallery, to be near my son and his wife. I plan to stay in the Bay area for the foreseeable future, to share their lives and baby-sit for my two-year-old grandson (I sit two days during the week). I will start making glass sculpture again soon, in addition to my volunteer environmental work, figuring out how to change the paradigm we're living in (preferably this month).
I've also spent many years getting to know myself. I'm a fully developed person – insightful, wise, strong, and loving. I’m abundantly present. I thrive on intimate conversations, and I discuss emotional issues with honesty, clarity, knowledge, and depth. I love to laugh.
I want to be known deeply, and I'll want to know you deeply, accepting your weaknesses and strengths with understanding and empathy. I'm interested in creating a passionate long term relationship, and I'm willing to invest the time, patience and energy it takes to create one – only with a man who is equally committed to exploring whether we are deeply, soulfully compatible. I am not interested in dating per se, or in one-night stands. Been there, done that…not interested.
Some of the qualities I value most are integrity, empathy, creativity, a keen intelligence, optimism, a love of words, and an irreverent, iconoclastic sense of humor (I view a sense of humor and gratitude as equally essential to a good life.)
For me, sharing our physical selves generously is an essential part of the joy of emotional closeness. Touching and seeing are the two senses I enjoy most. Seeing, simply seeing, is one of my chief pleasures in life. Seeing nature, people, colors, art, plays, movies – and, of course, you. I’ve been told I'm a wonderful kisser.
Hanging out with friends and family, creating new things (sculpture, paintings, poems, letters, t-shirt slogans), hearing great music, watching sunsets, having deep, honest conversations, kissing, hiking, bicycling, discussing everything, being in nature, sailing or xc skiing – I'll be excited to share these and more with you.
Since I'm an artist, creating beauty and meaning are important to me (color is my second favorite thing to fantasize about). I write poetry for myself, and I have a couple of books in the works. Since I treasure the earth, IРІР‚в„ўm politically active on current environmental issues.
IРІР‚в„ўm a loyal friend, and an empathetic listener. I've taught communication skills to children and adults, and I enjoy empowering others, particularly young people. You, too, know how to listen deeply and communicate honestly. You know many of your own truths, in all their complexities.
I don't drink or use other drugs, because I value the clear communication and the ability to be fully present that sobriety allows. If you drink or use drugs more than occasionally, we won't be a good match, no matter how much else we may have in common.
I'm an oxymoron: a gregarious artist. Although as a creative person I need time alone to work, I love to give parties, too, and I'm an excellent hostess.
I look forward ro hearing from you. I answer all emails.
