Meet people from Cupertino, United States. I'm a history major who wishes to find future work in academia, because though I am cynic I have a romantic notion about academic work; of the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake. My love of history has probably made me a cynic, but it has not made me a nihilist; I have my ethics, my morals, and my strong political opinions. In this way I am a rather intense person: logical, scientific, opionated, what have you.
At the same time I'm the complete opposite of serious. I love humor, I love cracking jokes and stand up comedy. I like humor that is irreverent, off-color, humor with no boundaries. I love company and conversation and I value my friends above all else. I am polite, kind, loyal to those I trust and love.
I love art and visual media. I like going to museums, and I like watching good movies (especially visually arousing ones like Blade Runner or a Clockwork Orange). My musical tastes aren't too contemporary, but I enjoy discovering new bands I like, and I enjoy a number of genres.
I'm a bit of a nerd too: comics, sci-fi, video games, tabletop games, all things technical like cars and planes are a hobby of mine. Not to the point of obsession, but these are certainly interests that make up part of my personality.
At the moment I'm really into motorsports, cars, motorcycles, the whole thing. I've been keeping up with WRC, MotoGP, Formula One, etc. and I've been getting a lot out of learning about the history of the cars, races, etc.
I very much like animals and nature and natural beauty (David Attenborough documentaries are some of the most beautiful and enjoyable things I have seen).
My main fault is that I am quite shy, formal, and closed at first, which makes me seem either serious or ill-humoured at first glance. That is until I warm up to a person and start to relax, then I'm humorous, conversational, candid, etc.
I suppose what I'm looking for in a relationship is both obvious and somewhat nebulous at the same time. I am looking for someone: who shares many of the same interests, who has a similar sense of humor, whom I enjoy conversing with, and most importantly who is kind.
At the moment my life is sort of on pause. I was in my third year of University at UCSC studying history when I got diagnosed with bone cancer. So I had to drop everything and do chemo for two years. The good news is I'm now done with treatment, free of cancer, and though a bit banged up, I feel good, energetic, and physically healthy. The better news, and less boring part, is that in those two years I had time to clear my mind of the worries that college brings, and figure out a great number of things about myself (what I want, what I like, who I am, what I believe in, etc.). It was as if I was forced to mature much faster than I normally would have in the same period of time. The whole thing might sound twee or cheesy, but I think it's a candid and accurate picture of what happened during that time.
After going so far in college, and realizing without a shred of doubt that I do want to pursue a history degree, that this is what I'm good at and what I enjoy, I now wait eagerly to return to my studies in the fall.
Date someone special from Cupertino, United States. Its hard to meet someone in my line of work I am caring unselfish type of guy. I like going out and having fun.Id say country music is one of my favorite. Im new to the san jose area i was born and raised in san luis obispo. . I luv what I do for a living. I consider myself respectful and fair. I like going out Im almost always open to anything. I love to laugh and make people laugh. Im grateful for the great friends I have. Im looking to make friends first and see were it goes from there.
Meet single boy from Cupertino, United States. What can I say about myself? Well-educated, honest, not very talkative but can hold a conversation. Love sports and watching movies. Enjoy traveling, dining, exploring new places or outdoor activities, a glass of good wine and more recently dancing - in general having a good time. Very loyal to family and friends - they rock my life! I take some time to get intimate with people but prefer meaningful relationships. Enjoy sarcasm and can definitely take some too :) Guess we only got one life so why not make the most of it? Mistakes help us learn, so I believe in living life with few regrets and a sense of adventure...I recently went skydiving and that was some adventure!
Looking for a woman who likes to have fun, enjoys a good laugh, values education, is nice to people and is enthusiastic about life. Someone who is not perfect but is a good human being. A person who I can share quality time with - either while having unbridled fun or in quiet conversations. One who is ready to take on the adventures of life with me and hopefully make us better people in the process...Is that too much to ask for? I guess I will see!!
Date a boy from Cupertino, United States. There really isn't much to say about myself. I work in Sunnyvale, at a video game publishing company working with...well video games. I'm 26 and still don't have my B.A (almost done!). I took enough classes to have about 3 majors, but could never really stick with one I liked.
I've been told I'm funny by multiple people and strangers. I've been mistaken for a comedian a few times (still trying to figure out who). Whether this is true or not has yet to be seen by myself, but I'll take their words for it.
I like sports, particularly football and baseball. I like playing them more however. I also tend to go rock climbing (bouldering) on occasion as well as mountain biking.
I'm relatively slim/small, whatever you want to call it. Probably weighing in at no more than 150lbs at 6'1'' but I do work out and stay active, so I guess that's a plus.
I also like to sing, despite probably being not very good at it.
Not much else to say really. Ask and I'll answer.
Meet men and women from California, United States. I wish I was born in the 50's and lived a teenager's life in 1969 in San Francisco! Yes, a free spirit and a generous heart attracts me the most. Some intelligence and being a little silly doesn't hurt either!
I was born in Calcutta in India, grew up in some major cities, New Delhi, Surat, besides Calcutta, of course. I recently moved to the San Francisco bay area from Austin, TX, where I spent the last three and half years in Graduate School. It has been such an amazing journey; moving from a land of a billion people with probably the maximum cultural diversity, to the United States -- perhaps the only nation in the world where one can achieve anything with hard work and some luck.
My friends call me nerdy, dorky and goofy! Perhaps, that's the result of spending four years in engineering school in college and another three and a half towards my PhD, but once the butterflies have settled down, you will immediately see the cotton-heart inside :) Someone, who takes immense pleasures in the simple things in life -- bringing flowers, holding a door open, cuddling, holding hands, surprise-gifts and cooking early morning breakfasts (I love cooking, especially brunch!). Music (Pink Floyd, Beatles, Bob Marley) moves me and so does a good book. Recently, I have discovered my lost love for dogs too!
My expectations are realistic. After all, everyone has a journey and the greatest joy is to discover each other's purpose in the journey and walk together. A compassionate and bubbly person is surely going to melt me! I would love to find someone who likes to travel and explore, understands comfortable silence, is not overtly judgmental and in general, is a happy-go-lucky type! I am quite passionate about my work, so someone who is equally passionate about her work (doesn't matter what exactly it is) would be awesome! I think, one can experience and achieve a lot more in life together, than alone :)
A nice evening dinner, a long walk, some quiet moments shared together, few smiles and a few surprises! Why don't we take it from there?
Date people from California, United States. "He attacked everything in life with a mix of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence, and it was often difficult to tell which was which." -Douglas Adams
I am an outgoing person who enjoys traveling, going out, and trying new things. I have a very good sense of humor and I love making people laugh. I'm very energetic and I like to keep things moving so my down times are meals and sleep. I am warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. I see life as full of possibilities. I make connections between events and information very quickly and confidently proceed based on the patterns I see. I prefer a lot of affirmation from others and readily give appreciation and support. I'm spontaneous and flexible and I often rely on my ability to improvise. I'd like to think I am versatile; I'm comfortable in a tux at the symphony and I'm happy to be camping. I'm a romantic at heart. I think an outdoor concert or a picnic on the beach would be great dates: some sun, some wind, some food, and some tunes. I dream big and doggedly go after what I want. I moved across the country for my current job and would do it again. "Adventure is out there!"
On a typical weekend, you will find me working on a car, at the gym or outside, cooking, or possibly working on something for the upcoming week. I like cooking something difficult. I like the challenge and I really enjoy making things for people. Leg of lamb with a honey, thyme, and stout glaze or zuppa di pesce are easy. Peking duck is a 3 day affair. My 7 layer, chocolate raspberry mousse cake had to be cut off at 5 layers because it was too tall. Some say it was too grand for a birthday cake. I say it was fitting for an awesome person...and bad height judgement.
I like to travel and have been to 10 countries: England, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Monaco, Italy, France, Brazil, China, and Canada. I really liked Europe and would love to go back.
Love life.
Meet single boy from California, United States. I was born and raised on the West Coast - the best coast - in the lovely city of San Francisco. After Graduating with my MBA, I found a job that took me out here, into the middle of Michigan. What can I say? It's tough finding decent single ladies in the real world (workplace, bars, supermarket, etc.) so I'm taking a crack at online dating.
Date men and women from California, United States. I am a software professional, a nerd. When I am not watching movies, writing a screenplay, I am writing code or a trying to publish a paper/patent.
I am an active person and love to play tennis. If you play tennis, that is awesome ! we should get together for a game. I love to run as well and I ran the US half at San Francisco last September and ran the Bay to Breakers this year. Also, I ride a motorcycle and enjoy riding - I am learning how to fix/maintain them myself.
Between learning to play the guitar, my screenwriting classes ( I make short films with my brother and am particularly partial to cinematography), tennis and publications - it gets pretty hard to meet someone and hence my foray into the world of online dating. I believe it takes a lot of courage to get out there and ask someone out - but to kinda put yourself out there by putting up a profile while seemingly less terrifying can be intimidating too.. !
An important part of me is that I love my family, my dad, mum and my brother (and his family). I lived in Santa Cruz for 5 years, where in addition to watching episodes from the West Wing (Aaron Sorkin is a genius! if you didn't know that already), House and Fringe, I managed to get a Ph.D in Computer Engineering.
What am I looking for in a person ? Smart, energetic, caring, generous and self-motivated girl. Someone who plays tennis or any sport for that matter would appreciate my need to compete. I am a romantic - and a dreamer - and would love it if the person can share that quality - a willingness to lose yourself in fantasies and chase quixotic dreams. So if you feel you might be anything like that and would like to say hi - send me a message.
Meet someone special from California, United States. I'm easy going. Enjoy outdoors and like to travel. Don't like filling out forms, so that's all I'll say for now. Would very much prefer a conversation with a real person, rather than writing my life's memoirs.
