I am doing it not just dreaming it!
My idea of a great summer vacation would be riding a motorcycle (with my partner riding hers or riding with her arms wrapped around my waist) on the roads less traveled thru the Rockies (Done) to Sturgis (bike week) (DONE) enjoy a little bit of craziness. Just before it gets totally out of control we would be gone, spending the next few weeks making our way across the mid-west to NYC (DONE), camping most nights where-ever the moods strikes us and staying in a nice Bed 'n Breakfast once in a while. We would stop along the way to enjoy the local interests and eat/drink the local favorites. The new friends we make along the way would only add to the experience. We would take detours along the way which would allow us to play some of America's (maybe Canada's too) great golf courses. We would not waste time with doing laundry but instead just buy something new and ship the clothes home or donate them to a local charity. Along the way we would visit family and old friends. This would give us an opportunity to relax for a day or two, maybe a day on the lake (DONE) or an afternoon in the hammock and a nice barbeque. Or the guys could go to Home Depot to get stuff to finish a little project and gals would spend the day at the local spa. After we would meet at happy hour at the local dive bar before enjoying the local summer stock theater. Once in Manhattan we would stay at the New Yorker Hotel (changed to the Sheraton). We would use this as the jumping off point to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the city that never sleeps....During our time together we would enjoy a nice glass of wine or smooth single malt as we discussed random things, on some we would agree and others we would not (I have always enjoyed taking either side of an issue just because it makes for a nice conversation but in the end I would always reveal my true belief). The last item on the trip would be to sell the motorcycle and fly first class home (changed my mind; the Blue Ridge Parkway is on the way home)... A person that understands the message being sent from each of these completely different aspects of life will be a sure match for me....!!!! Leaving (LEFT) Aug 4th any takers!!!
I live a very simple life enjoying what my relationships afford me, be it good friends on the golf course or time with my family when I go to visit them. I have a very busy career and enjoy my volunteer work. My two sons are grown and I am proud of both of them. I am far from perfect and have made plenty of mistakes (most I have learned from) but I will not allow my past to be an anchor to my future. I worked a desk job over the past couple of years, so I have worked off the effects of that. I can still hang with the kids I work with but it takes me a few extra minutes to recover.
I will not try to go into detail about what I am looking for, but I will know it at the time. I will give it a chance if you will. Be Nice and Be Yourself; that is all I ask!
