I was born and raised in California, and have been living in the Valley of the Sun since 2005. I've made myself a nice life here, I have a good job, a house and a dog. I'm an Unix systems administrator, yes I'm a nerd and proud of it! I really love what I do, but being a system administrator has its challenges. I work weird hours, sometimes I work long days, but it means I get 3 and a half day weekends.
I like to spend my time with people that like to try new things, go to new places and have adventures. I enjoy spending a night at a good dive bar, or Indie club, or live show, sometimes I will do it all over again the next night. Or not, I am a person who can spend an evening on the couch watching a good movie (The Goonies is my favorite movie of all time!) and making dinner just as easily as spending a night out on the town.
I like to plan in general, I plan travel, vacations, camping and the like, but I learned when plans go wrong, you make the best of the situation, and it often turns out better than you had originally intended. My life has not followed my original plan, and I could not be more satisfied.
In my free time I like to cook- I have a large cookbook library, and enjoy trying new dishes from different parts of the world. I also love to read my kindle is an almost constant companion. I enjoy lots of non-fiction, usually food or history related books. I also love the classics, and cheesy sci-fi novels. I do play video games, but I am not obsessed with them. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I do enjoy football; college mostly (I am a UCLA Bruins fan).
My interests are not limited to being indoors all the time, I like to camp, and love to fish. I enjoy fishing so much that I have fished in the SRP Canal by my house, yes there are fish in those canals in Phoenix. I find the act of fishing calming, regardless of whether I catch anything or not.
