. Don't know what to put here, I've been single for 40 years and haven't had time to date much. Since retiring and moving back to AL I find that having a special person to share time and experiences with would be nice. Used to do a lot of things with friends. Didn't go to college until I was in my 30's. Started on masters in Florence but my mother got sick and I had to take care of her.My daughter and son-in-law opened a furniture store near Ft Rucker in Ozark; and here came "nana" so don't know many people. I volunteer at the Ozark library once or twice a week and substitue at the local schools. Looking for someone outgoing and that enjoys laughing even at self. . Reserved, relaxed, retired...life is good. I enjoy the mountains and the beach but it appears these two areas now are overpopulated judging by the interests of others on this site. Kind is the word friends most often use to describe me; I cheer for the underdog. Fortunate, lucky, and blessed are the words that describe my life, even with the disappointments, sorrows and losses we have all experienced. I prefer to reside in the present, benefiting from the insights and perspectives gained from the past. I am competitive by nature. With time and effort, I have known what it feels like to reach certain skill levels to enjoy physical and mental activities in different venues. Some of you know what I mean...the sound of a golf club hitting the ball just right. Although I never learned to swim, I am a certified scuba diver. With friends, I learned to play pool, bridge and dance...cajun, zydeco, swing, bop, shag, etc. Today, the bucket list includes less physical and more mental activities like learning to play poker and chess. What am I looking for on this site? Not sure. Perhaps best described by the old adage, "You will know it when you see it."
