My life is pretty chaotic to say the least- fun! but chaotic :) I am far from "Type A" or "typical girl"-I'm a devoted mom of the most amazing child on Earth and I happily let her consume most of my time. My bed is rarely made and there is usually a blanket thrown on the couch. My remote controls and keys are never in the same place (but usually findable in less than a minute) and I'm rarely on time, sometimes 10 minutes early, sometimes 10 minutess late. I'm just as happy in my jeans as I am a little black dress, love dirty Mexican and a ballgame as equally as Ocean and the ASO- I've been told I'm low-maintainance and easy-going, at times a little too independent- but if I weren't, I'd starve and my house/yard would look like a run-down jungle. Im not a damsel in distress.I like to work-out/ run/swim, yardwork, playing guitar, remodeling/painting (just tiled my fireplace), traveling (learned to surf in Hawaii this spring),dancing, trying new sports ( just a heads-up, I'm no athlete, but I try), football Saturdays (RTR!!!) and just being outside. . My hair fits my personality--bouncy and with a mind of its own. (Ha!) Don't worry..I'm not a complete "Tigger", but I do have a good bit of energy most of the time. People who know me well seem to appreciate me for my warmth, enthusiasm, and inquiring mind. I have a silly and kind of random sense of humor. I love people and people-watching, and noticing funny quirks. Friends, faith and family are high priorities for me. I like to think that I'm a loyal friend, aunt, daughter, sister, and godmother. I love to learn new things, enjoy college sports, movies, music, and travel (though I'm not doing much of that right now while I'm in graduate school.)
Currently about halfway through a Ph.D. program. Doing some teaching while I work on my degree. Being in school is hard work and taxing sometimes, but it will be a great accomplishment when I'm done. What I love is helping students find their passion and discover their talents and what it takes to be successful in college and in life (though I am a work in progress and am still figuring that out for myself, in a lot of ways.) I love a good story. I've been told I'm pretty good at telling them (I can be pretty animated!) and I love listening to other people tell theirs as well. I do mess up the punch line on jokes sometimes though! Oh well.
So, why am I here? My divorce was fairly recent, so I'm all about going slow. I do want to move forward and have some new adventures though, and ultimately find someone who is the right match for me. My ideal guy is someone whose values line up with mine, who is patient and loving and likes to laugh a lot. Someone who is playful and brings out that side of me too. A guy who's confident but not cocky. Who puts a little effort into his appearance without being narcissistic. Someone who loves and wants kids. Don't want someone who takes themselves too seriously--I try not to. Want someone who challenges me to be my best, but will cherish and appreciate me as I am. And I'm a girl who will celebrate you right back! I'm affectionate but not smothering..opinionated but not overbearing..smart but not a know-it-all..fairly organized but not rigid..a hard worker, but work/school aren't the most important thing to me.
My faith IS an important part of who I am...I'm active in church and want someone who shares that desire. Ultimately I feel faith is something that couples should share (agreeing on the "big stuff") and live out together in a way that's real and sort of effervescent, touching the lives of others and providing an anchor for the rough stuff of life. That's what really contributes to the kind of relationship that stands the test of time. As one of my close friends would say, I want someone who'll be "in the trenches" with me.
