. I just turned 35, been in Alabama for many years, but this place is still foreign to me. I'm a military brat who moved here from Austin, so I'm used to being around different types of people. I'm allergic to small-mindedness and ignorance of any kind. Intelligent life is something that I crave, but seem to have trouble finding these days. I'm not about BS, i'm too old for that. I'm just here to meet decent people. I'm an open book for the most part...though I have no problem letting you know if you're being nosy. :)
I work in the medical billing field, I've been doing that for about 12 years now...not what I went to college for, but it's something I enjoy and as long as people are getting sick or injured, I will have a job. I plan to move out of Alabama eventually...I don't really feel like this is the place for me. I'm hoping to move back to Texas, or possibly somewhere else in the western part of the country--but that's not set in stone. What will I do once I arrive? I haven't gotten that far yet...
I'm really good at motivating people...I've been told that I should have been a motivational speaker and I'm not really sure whether to take that as a compliment or not. :) I'm actually better at helping other people get their crap together than I am with my own life sometimes. I'm also a great girlfriend (and even better friend), or at least I've been told so. ;)
People normally notice that I seem to fit into just about every social situation. I have my military upbringing to thank for that...we have no choice but to become social chameleons, maintaining a sense of individuality is still key though and I think I've done that pretty well.
I spend some of my time thinking about the past and what i could have done to change certain things (as unhealthy as that is, i can't help it sometimes), my future and whether or not i'm going to be ultimately happy with life, whether the person who invented lycra spandex was smoking crack with the person who brought back skinny jeans, why people insist on speeding through my neighborhood but driving 45 on a 70 mph interstate, if i'll find anybody on this site (friend or otherwise) who really "gets me"...i could go on, but i'll save my energy.
I'm looking for someone who is open-minded, not looking for a strictly sexual relationship (sorry, had to put that in there for obvious reasons), can relate to or have an interest in some or most of what i've said (no matter how neurotic it sounds), you have an interest in people...not what they look like or what they have, but what makes them who they are...if you have something decent to say, intelligent conversation is essential.
