Date a soulmate from California, United States. Ten years ago I never would imagined myself living in the San Joaquin Valley searching for a companion, soul-mate or possible marriage partner. My husband and I moved here in 2006 to be nearer our children and grandchildren. In 2007 he died of cancer after forty-seven years of marriage. I have felt supported and blessed by the families of my three daughters and ten grandchildren whom are the joy of my life. With the exception of three grandsons in college, they all live within two to three hours from here, which is an easy and short drive. I try to attend as many birthdays and special events as possible.
My life experiences began in Minnesota where I was raised, attending college in Mpls and Michigan continuing work in the medical field. I met my husband there and we moved to Southern California for work and start our family. We put down our rootsthere and estableshed a wonderful network of family and friends through church and school activities.
Two of our favorite family vacations were San Clemente Beach and Yosemite National Park. Many of our good friends were a part of those vacations including all the surfing, sunbathing, tennis and hiking that goes with those locations. One of my life thrilling accomplishments was climbing Half-Dome in Yosemite. I was grateful to be in good shape due to tennis, aerobics and walking. The last few years I have done more water aerobics and walking with weights. I consider myself healthy and physically fit.
I miss the coastal area, cities and life style with it's late afternoon breezes and overcast/foggy mornings. I'm adjusting to life here in the valley, but still still feel like ' a fish out of water' at times. I mostly miss my dear long time friends and some family in the LA area. I drive there as often as possible and stay connected by phone and emails.
When I head on down to Long Beach and Orange County for a few days with friends we usually end up at the beach for a walk or just sitting, talking and walking in the sand and surf. Watching the sunset at Seal Beach or Huntington Beach piers along with hamburger and fries at " Rubies" is a must. Most dining out near the beach is very casual and pleasant especially sharing life experienes with the person you love to be with.
I would never say no to a candle light dinner, be that in my home or a great dining spot. I love small intimate dinners with a few close friends or a romantic dinner for two. Other evening events I love are theater, plays, concerts and occasional sporting event. Watching my grandchildren in any of those venues is the best of all.
Most of the things I enjoy I have taken a class or two in over the years. That would be cooking, baking, art ( all kinds of medium )computer, digital photoshop and photography, home decorating and maybe more. Right now my Book Club Group has been very enjoyable and I have belonged to different clubs over the years. We read a wide variety of material both fiction and non-fiction history from long time classics to present day Best Sellers. Music is an important part of my life having sung in choir for years and play enough piano to practice my part and for my own enjoyment, I enjoy a wide variety of music, but not rap or hard rock. I also have a pool and garden and spend some time in that area.
I believe I am a loving, kind and generous person also very patient, flexible and trustworthy. I'm self confident is managing my home and personal business with a clean, tidy and organized house. I'm open minded and courtious toward others with a warm and approachable personality. Other have said I'm sensitive having the gift of hospitality while accepting others for who they are.
I would be attracted to some one who is intelligent and educated with varied life experiences in regard to people and cultures.
Like interests are important and someone that fits my life style. I'm an incurable romantic. Most guess my age at sixty or less.
