I came to San Francisco in 1968 and I fell in love with the beauty, vitality, and excitement of the bay area. I love spending time out of doors, and my favorite day trip is to West Marin with my dog and my camera. I hike regularly with a group of friends. Working as a nurse at UCSF in the neonatal ICU instilled in me an appreciation for living in the present, and an understanding of being grateful for what I have. As a prerequisite for life, I attended Berkeley and graduated with a degree in english literature. Traveling is something I enjoy, but by nature I am more of a homebody than a nomad. I recently returned from Italy, and presently don't feel like traveling. Urban exploration is a favorite activity, exploring different neighborhoods, cafes, galleries, restaurants, and shops. Religion is not important to me, and I find my solace and inspiration in nature. I am a music lover and I especially like jazz vocals, such as Dinah Washington and Esperanza Spalding. Also a fan of The Dead, Bob Dylan, Stones, etc. I am a fan of movies, with a preference for foreign and independent films, with my favorite film being "The Secret In Their Eyes". I always have a book going and I'm currently reading "Disgrace" by J.M.Doetzee. I find politics interesting and I am a democrat. I would describe myself as compassionate, honest, direct, grounded, smart, loyal, resilient, financially responsible,and idealistic.
