Meet a soulmate from United States. Writing this note is hard since I don't really like to talk about myself all that much; I'd much rather hear about you. I love getting to know folks and finding out how they tick and what goes on in their hearts and minds. The more varied, the better. You see, I like differences as I find them stimulating rather than threatening. Please share that characteristic.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not into obscure hobbies or otherwise offbeat interests. Quite the opposite, I love my kids and my family, I enjoy my job, and I like living in and exploring California. But I do enjoy digging a little deeper, and trying to understand the story behind the story.
So, I enjoy the arts, be that music, writing, or representational art, because I like it when someone takes a different beat on things. All of us can enjoy a rich life today because some folks in the past were willing to push the envelope, and to them goes my heart.
But there is also a more personal angle to the above. As I said, I'm fascinated by people and how they got to be who they are. Everyone has an interesting story, maybe one they don't quite bring up in the first meeting, but the one that's been defining their lives for good or for bad. That's what I'm interested in.
In that spirit am I looking for a partner to spend the remainder of my years with. Someone that's may have collected a few arrows in her back and knows as much about what works as she knows about what doesn't work. And who has done her homework to understand and accept responsibility for why we got to where we are, and has been willing to absorb the lessons. Sometimes it wasn't the others, sometimes it's been us. It's important to know the difference, otherwise we just keep repeating the same dramas over and over.
And so I'm looking for a partner that's warm and open (still), that's capable of sharing herself, and that can accept it when I do the same. Someone that enjoys giving a hug as much as getting one, but then that can also sit down and talk about the family finances, or talk about how to manage the latest teenage kids crisis or who's going to take the car to the repair shop the next morning.
Someone that respects herself and others and feels the awe and privilege from being in a deep, intimate relationship. Yet be someone that can also not take things too seriously and roll with events as they evolve, not as we too often insist they be.
Life has a way of being what it is, not what we want it to be, and that's good. And so, at times one needs to be able to surf the waves that come to shore instead of trying to be the rock in the surf around which they break. Surfing is a lot more fun than being rigidly pounded by the surf.
