My life's journey has been interesting and continues to be so. When I was in my 20's I expected to do the standard house in the 'burbs' with wife and two and a half kids after finishing college. Well, that never really happened. I have the house, substituted two dogs and a cat for the two and a half kids (sadly all are now gone), and ended up first caring for my Mom and now an aunt (not much care other than taking to Dr.s appointments, etc.). Between all that, I have had time to explore Europe, Canada, Mexico, most of the USA, parts of the South Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand.
I hope to retire in a few years or sooner and get back on the road either in my trailer or maybe a motorhome. I enjoy camping and exploring and would like to do so again with a partner before I get too far along in my years. I can't see working until I'm 67 and still have the energy to do long hikes/adventures. I've been to a lot of interesting places so far and have lots more to explore and re-visit. For now, my trips are limited (Heaven forbid we leave our cat home alone for too long. I don't think she would forgive us.)
What am I looking for in a woman? Basically I'm looking for a partner, not a servant or a boss. Someone who will put up with and accept my faults when needed and graciously let me know when there is something I should change.
She would be medium maintenance - down to the basics when appropriate (e.g. when camping) but still have the desire and ability to dress up when the mood strikes her. She should be adventurous yet grounded.
Hmmm, in reading my description, maybe I should date our cat who rules the house except when she is sliding backwards across the kitchen floor because I tossed her backwards between my legs.... I think she actually likes doing that because she keeps coming back for more. ;-)
p.s. All but one of the photographs are from an August 2011 trip with my sister so they are very recent. Some are not very flattering of me (e.g. The wakeup shot of me on the beach) but I hope they give you a good sense of who I am... warts and all.
