I was recently going to DVC and was going to transfer to Berkeley, but i needed a stable career to help support my son and I better so I am going to cosmetology school to do hair. Right now I work for the family business doing book-keeping for property management. It's great because it gives me the flexibility I need as a parent and student. The story about "The Family Business" is really cool and i love the history behind it. I also recently got a new job at a Day Spa where I can intern until a pass my state board exams. I'm looking forward to doing an apprenticeship for haircolor and cutting at a salon when I graduate in October (Halloween to be exact!!!). The family business is flexible so I can keep up the book-keeping even on top of my salon work; it's what meets my family's (my son and i) needs and will be a little extra on the top when i get my salon job. Plus I love keeping our family's history going.
I spend a lot of time with my family (3 days a week at least, not including when i work) , and even though there isn't a lot of us, getting everyone together for holidays, parties, and BBQs is the best! I'm a buxom curvy full figured girl, not quite a BBW by most standards, but i am not thin at all. So if you are looking for a toothpick or a bean pole,...I am not the one LOL! I also have several tattoos and piercings (with more tattoos to come). *** I have 8 tattoos, most are not viewable in my normal everyday clothes. - San Francisco - I'm very fortunate to be able to work here and spend a lot of my time here.
- Santa Barbara - my extended family lives there, I went to college there, and it is hands down, my favorite place.
- Movies - high-dialogue ones, movies with subtitles, and really stupid-funny ones. If they're not in the mainstream theatres, the more likely it is I'll like them.
- Fashion and office supplies - I truly love office supplies.
- Good grammar and Books - the real kind, with pages that turn.
- My big family - they are the source of most of my laughs. I have three younger sisters, two brothers, parents in London, grandparents who I adore, and countless aunts, uncles and cousins. Every meal is a party.
- Warm weather (grew up in SoCal) and being outdoors. There are too many incredible places to explore in the Bay Area.
- Food and the Event of Food: Especially experimental, spicy, fun throw-everything-together and see what happens cooking.
- Tolerance, perspective, balance, simple pleasures and an appreciation for life - short as it may be, the people you care about should never have to guess at how you feel about them. I guess you could say I am often direct, particularly if an issue is of significance to me.
- Yoga and things that develop organically - I'm kind of a blend between a preppy conservative and a free spirit. I still use deodorant that actually works (sorry Tom's) and I would have a hard time being vegan because I love ice cream and cheese too much.
What I want long-term is someone who I respect and who respects me. Someone who is honest with himself and others. Someone who has a good work ethic, but who knows how to enjoy the non-working moments too, who I can have incredible passion and chemisty with, and also laugh and joke with. Someone who has a life separate from me and who values friendships and family. Compatibility, particularly in how one approaches new situations, is important.
