I've just turned 57 and have spent my last 7 years alone. I have a handicapped son but he no longer lives with me full time. His handicap is mental not physical and he currently lives in a group home. Because of living with my son for so long and his condition I do not make long range plans or goals for my life. Living each day the best to my ability has turned out to be best for my life. I do bring him home often, so if interacting with a mentally handicapped person is something you cannot do I think we would not be a good match. No matter who comes into my life or how deeply I love her, he will always be my son and will always have a place in my home.
