It's difficult, isn't it? To treat everyone else the way I would like to be treated, but also always remembering that everyone is different hence must be treated differently.
As you may be able to tell, I have never had problems making friends. I know I'm fun to talk with and be around with as long as alcohol is not a determinant of "fun" in our company. I know I have a good sense of humor and that people generally like me at first impressions. What I really have problems with is keeping close friends as I generally have a habit of not caring about somebody if I'm not going to see that person regularly anymore. Hence, every 5 years or so, I have a new social circle.
This is my fault as a person, as much as I strive to be a good man. I understand that everyone has a few, after all, skeletons in the closet aren't exclusive.
I want to meet someone who can look past a person faults and appreciate all the otherwise worthwhile qualities that personifies that person. One who isn't judgmental (by means of religious, social, or economic dogma) but still understands the differences that beholds everyone. One who thinks before they speak, as respect is still a virtue even if not everybody practices it. Above all, one who understand that the qualities of a true friend should not go unrewarded as such qualities are rare these days. Anything other than these qualities do not matter to me (both good or bad).
