Ah well...I guess some indicators are in order - I recharge by hiking and yoga. I meditate occasionally, but I'm not particularly introspective. I mostly look forward and don't dwell on the past (...unless I haven't quite dealt with the past and it creeps up on me when I am meditating). I love working, but also love down time. I hate capitalizing when I type, but other people seem to appreciate it so I try. I don't have a TV, but I do have netflix & hulu. My orchid success rate is about 50:50. And yes, I admit to reading paranormal romance novels - why dwell on reality when trying to relax? Cabernet, yes! Chardonnay, never. Open, honest, expressive, thoughtful.
I think you can reinvent yourself at any point and create the life you want to live. I have been many things...an organic farmer in Honduras, an environmental educator in California, and now I work in the medical device industry where I really feel at home. I am so grateful for the full life I have led, for the people in my life who have challenged me, for my son who continues to challenge me to be the best person I can be. I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and family.

Likes kids (FYI: I love my son (almost 12) more than life, much to his dismay). Outdoor fun a must...cleans up good, not a slave to fashion, but probably no socks with sandals, if that helps.

What makes me laugh the most, and absolutely NOT relax, is my 5yo son. The things that come out of his mouth lately make me cry with laughter, or want to hang him by his toenails! I think I'm really strict, and expect a lot of him, but he calls my bluff more often than not. The sweetest thing he did recently was to rest my head on his chest, with his little arm around my neck, as he said "Mom, I'm like your boyfriend." Cute, but sad. So very sad.
Obviously, he is an extremely important part of my life. I talk about him all the time. I bore people with his very latest pictures AND videos. I probably spoil him with too much affection, attention, and things. But, he's my boy... and he'll spoil me the same (eventually). I am not opposed to mingling kids with dates, but timing has to be right, and no PDA rules strictly enforced. :) We don't need anyone freaking out unnecessarily. -- that means 'you'.
I've been on my own for almost 2 years. How time flies... it's sometimes been a struggle, sometimes lonely, and sometimes a relief. My amazing friends and fabulous new work-family have tried their best to keep me sane and entertained when necessary. Have you heard that Tuesday is the new Thursday?
I'm still not sure if I'll ever be married again, but at some point, a stable committed relationship is the goal. For now, I am so very excited about the next chapter! That said, I need to find some hobbies. Toy shopping at Target, making fried rice and cinnamon french toast, wrestling a crocodile into his bath, collecting beach glass at negative low tide, and constantly cleaning up after Pig-pen and his overly furry cat, don't count.
Maybe 'someone' will inspire me to take another yoga or martial arts class, or lure me into 'nature' for a hike or trail ride, or get really serious about scrapbooking. I mean, I have all the stuff! Scrapbooking stuff, that is... and maybe an old Aikido Gi.
I once wanted to be a Sensory Engineer. Is there such a thing? The right ambiance makes my heart race a little... golden colored leaves just before sunset, perfectly coarse macrogrit sand, live acoustic music, a comfy couch, rich linens, a fantastic lightning storm. I guess some of those things would be beyond anyone's engineering, but it's fun to think about. (Control freak, anyone?) Now, I am an EA to a couple of really cool dudes! Who knew this role could wield so much power?
Sorry for the rambling... I've written this type of thing before, but kept recycling the same canned carp (not a typo). Figured I'd start from scratch and see where it leads...
