Learning to be independent and on my own again. Although I won't lie, I am extremely lonely. I really miss the companionship of a partner.
I have some college education, however, did not obtain a degree. I may go back someday and finish but not decided yet.
I love animals especially dogs, horses, fish and birds. I had 4 Dobermans, 2 birds, 1 cat and some betta fish at one time. It was hard trying to keep up with all the food, vet bills, etc though. I have since lost some animals and am now down to more manageable numbers these days. I only have one Doberman left and my birds, however, I did pickup a Sheltie along the way who needed a good home. Now it's just the 5 of us.
I have never liked wine in the past, however, I am expanding my horizons and have actually enjoyed going to some wine bars recently. I enjoy movies, music, concerts, plays, going out to dinner, going to sporting events, camping, the outdoors and yes, video games. I don't play all the time, just when the mood hits me. I have never really liked cooking before but have considered the thought of dabbling in it now that I'm single and have a lot of time on my hands.
I just recently lost some weight and have more to go to reach my goal but I feel really good about myself. I have made exercise and eating better a part of my life which I really enjoy now.
I guess what I'm looking for in a guy is someone who is sincere, honest, fun, easy going and yes, FUNNY because I love to laugh! I also want someone who is romantic, loving, VERY AFFECTIONATE and likes to kiss. I cannot stress the affection/kissing part enough. To me, personality is so much more important than looks. I would rather have someone less attractive who is sexy, passionate, loving, funny and who takes care of me.

Date a soulmate from Arizona, United States. I do believe, at this point, I’ve read about a thousand articles on “how to write a good online profile”, and I’m still not sure exactly what to do! This whole thing seems like a homework assignment you get from that sadistic professor who just wants to see how much you will suffer before you give up. So, about me: on the negative side I’ve been described as overly ambitious, borderline competitive, possibly over-educated, cautious and sarcastic. I’m not convinced that sarcasm is actually a bad thing but….in the quest for honesty I thought I’d add that in. I’ve also, on the flip side, been described as dedicated, loyal, honest and kind. I have somehow found myself in the “perfect job” and I don’t mind working, I actually enjoy it. That said, I also enjoy not working and spending time with my family, friends and just enjoying life. I love the outdoors and I sincerely enjoy finding new places to just go and enjoy nature. Gardening has become a new hobby of mine, although I have killed as much as I’ve nurtured this year.
My favorite time of day is morning, I am indeed a morning person and I love watching the sun rise with a good cup of coffee on a cool spring morning.
. How do you quickly summarize yourself and your "perfect match"? I'm not looking for perfection...I don't think I could stand perfection (;-) ), I certainly don't consider myself perfect! Hmmm....so, instead of my "knight in shining armor", perhaps it would be fair to say I'm looking for my knight in battered chain mail (after all, someone who's actually USED the armor in a few battles is a lot more impressive than someone just there for show....*laugh*).
I'm a small town girl who has traveled widely, studied and worked abroad....I have a wide-ranging curiousity about other countries, history, art, and archaeology. I love learning languages (well, just about anything really), cooking, music (I used to sing classical first soprano before I started back to grad school), writing, and reading.
I tend to be passionate about a few things and people, interested in or curious about a wide range of things, and can be intense and focused on current goals. I enjoy children and have had multiple self-proclaimed "god children" in spite of tending to be much more conservative than their parents! (*laugh*).
My background is a little different...I started out with liberal arts degrees, intending to teach history at a university, ended up with an MBA and went to work as a field ops manager for a railroad and then as an internal analyst, took a buy out, worked in investments for a while, passed the foreign service exam and sat on their wait list, and then went back to get my graduate degrees in accounting to become a professor.
I am looking for someone who is intelligent, well travelled, interested in a wide range of subjects, and can respect and be proud of the intelligent lady in his life. I'm looking for someone I can trust, respect, and be proud of and who believes that honor is more than just a word. Someone who is at home exploring museums, or another country, or just spending a quiet weekend at home. Someone who appreciates a strong woman who acts like a lady, and believes in treating her like a lady. Children are a plus, as is a love of animals.
Let's see...other unique things about me? I broke my first horse myself, I love spinning, weaving and knitting, I have had a poem published, I have moved 27 times in my life (my record is three times in one year), I broke my tailbone learning to figure skate in business school, Terry Pratchett (the Discworld series) is one of my favorite authors, I speak (or at least used to speak) Spanish, Portuguese, French and German and keep trying to teach myself Russian and Japanese, and I love teaching.
