In May I celebrated my retirement for the second time. I was really enjoying my first retirement so what in the world was I thinking when I went back to work again?
My life has been perfect and I don't feel that living as a single person stopped me from accomplishing anything I set out to do although recently I have been thinking it might be an exciting and pleasant experience to meet someone who shares some of my life events; however, if you believe that there is someone out there that can change your life then don't count on me. I don't change diapers anymore and I don't want to change my own tires, so if that's what you are looking for, it ain't me. I would be happy to meet a man who is content with his life and doesn't waste time beating himself up over past failures.
Here is what I can do even though I donРІР‚в„ўt particularly like doing some of them:
I can maintain my own home, shop, cook and clean my own house (or pay someone to do any job I dislike). I can iron my own clothes, manage my own finances or consult the appropriate persons in matters of health, finances or travel only when I feel I need additional input.
I have always respected men who can manage all the daily events in their own lives.
If what I wrote doesn't sound appealing, stop now...but, in my own eyes, I know that I am more normal, regular and honest than most. I believe I have lots of positives but as a got away Catholic, I learned that pride was one of the Seven Deadly Sins, so I can't bring myself to describe myself in glowing terms; nevertheless, here goes although this is not what I would call glowing: One unusual thing about me is that I took four years of Latin because I spent twelve years in Catholic schools. This qualifies me to discuss Hannibal crossing the Alps with the Elephants and geographically I know that all Gaul is divided into three parts. I raised my children alone and all four graduated from college, 3 have graduate degrees and the fourth is more financially stable than the rest of us (so much for higher education). My flock only yielded only 2 grandchildren.
Here are some other things about me that might interest you too. I walk every day except on the days I don't walk. I am healthy. I read about 4-6 books a month. I always wanted to write a book but I can't think of anything to write about. My family has a blog that I contribute to from time to time. I am moderately computer literate. I used to like playing cards and would like to do that again. I have been to Europe four times and would like to travel more. I speak one language. I was a biology and language arts major. I want to learn how to play golf, the piano and how to paint with watercolors. I was a middle school teacher, then a principal and then, because I missed the kids, I want back to the classroom until I retired. I was born in Ohio and lived there for 35 years. I moved to Phoenix because I hate cold weather. While living in Ohio, I worked in the morgue for about 5 years or so. I also worked in the factory office at the White MotorРІР‚в„ўs Corporation and was a member of the AFL/CIO. This should give us a few things to talk about or laugh about.
