Date someone special from United States. Me, myself ...? Well I would say that I have already gone through my midlife crisis. I am divorced as of summer 2007 and my 11 y/o daughter Hannah lives in Washington with her mom and new father. I am in good standings with all three of them; we get along fine and I miss my baby tremendously. I try and get up to see her every three months or so. Now that I have been on my own for a few years I have had three relationships but still I have not discovered that special person who is a soul mate. Two of the relationships were with women that were more than financially secure and we could have worked until retirement and been well off. For most guys or relationships in general that would be fine but, for me I need someone who has the desire and passion for my greatest and longest lived activity; bicycling.
I am a cycling enthusiast a former SPIN instructor and generally a high energy guy. Yes, that means I am looking for someone who shares that type of passion. I do not race; though I may soon. I am fit and can easily ride 100 miles in a day pulling a cycling trailer. I would love to tour the west coast with a partner and write a book about fascinating restaurants/breweries and farms that promote sustainability and food sovereignty. I love food and preparing dishes; though I do not make it a habit to consume land animals. I have kept land animals out of my regular diet since 1990. Since then I have never dated a vegetarian but, the meals are always joyous and if possible I like to hold hands and say grace.
I was baptized in 1999 in Seattle First Baptist Church. Its a welcoming and affirming far left liberal church. I enjoy theology more than religiosity and have also practiced Korean Buddhism in the mid 90's. Though I do believe in a universal truth I also feel that though Christ may have been factual; I feel that Christ consciousness is what we are here to rediscover.
I am not the best father but, children love me. I love going back to Wa. and seeing old friends and their kids. Though I have reservations about stepping into a relationship with a lady who has children that I would also be responsible for; I am a father. I can be authoritarian as well as totally compassionate and wacky. My daughter wants nothing more for me to be happy and find a dynamic lady who loves children and play time as much as she and I do. We play hard. We love thrill rides, jet ski's, motorcycles, volleyball and biking. We love animals and critters great and small. I have instilled the importance of sentient life and the grace of understanding that all life is precious. We love reptiles. If you have (or ever have wanted) reptiles that's a big plus with us. We love dogs and cats and if we can perform a rescue we always do.
I believe in community. I have owned two homes with my former wife and if necessary I will defend my neighborhood and community as though they are my family.
I moved back into Phoenix in late May 2011 after I realized my lover had a sever drinking problem and had severe emotional issues that were becoming destructive and dangerous to her son and I. I could never have had my daughter stay in our home therefore I had to leave. The economy for a semiskilled tradesman was tough up in the Puget Sound area, some weeks were feast while whole months were famine. I was born in Phx. and my mothers family is all here. After 23 years I swore never to move back but, I found employment as a roofer immediately and though its tough on my 44 y/o body I love the physicality of it. I am looking into fitness training and yoga instructor classes so I can finish up my bachelors that I started two years ago.
