I've spent 4 years working in a clinical neuroscience lab, a year doing clinical autism research, and then I moved into cancer research. I've been in clinical research for 8 1/2 years.
I'm from B'ham (went to school in Homewood), but lived in Colorado for 12 years. I just moved back to be closer to my family and work at UAB. Colorado was awesome and an incredibly beautiful state. I was very fortunate to experience most of it and just enjoy the heck out of it. But Alabama is now my home for good. I have always loved this state.
Regarding the no kids thing. I've had cancer (oh, the irony) and I can't have kids. Don't worry, I'm cancer-free and feeling great! Since this has happened, I feel like I've been given my life back (I guess you can say, I literally have) and I want to live it to the fullest. I don't let anything (or anyone) stop me from doing the fun things I want to do.
I am grateful for my family, my friends, my iPod and fresh fruit.
